5. Operation
Once the Q5-TX transmitter is successfully paired with a compatible receiver, operation is straightforward.
Connecting to Source Devices
The Q5-TX transmitter features an HDMI male connector. Simply plug it into the HDMI output port of your source device. Compatible devices include:
- PC (Desktop Computers)
- Laptop
- Set-top box
- Gaming Consoles (PS3/PS4, Nintendo Switch)
- Cameras
- DV (Digital Video Cameras)
The transmitter also has a USB-C input for power. Ensure it is connected to a power source (e.g., a USB port on your laptop or a USB power adapter) if your source device's HDMI port does not provide sufficient power.

Figure 5: This diagram illustrates the wide compatibility of the POFAN Wireless HDMI system. It shows various input devices (PC, Laptop, Set-top box, PS3/4, Nintendo Switch, Camera, DV) connecting to the transmitter, which then wirelessly transmits to the receiver, connected to output devices (Projector, Monitor, TV).
Multi-Transmitter Switching (Many-to-One Mode)
A single POFAN receiver can support up to 8 Q5-TX transmitters. This allows for seamless switching between multiple source devices connected to different transmitters, all displaying on the same receiver-connected screen.
- Ensure all transmitters are paired with the receiver.
- To switch between active transmitters, simply press the main button (Signal Projection Switch) on the desired transmitter. The receiver will automatically switch to display the content from that transmitter.
- This operation allows for quick and efficient content sharing without reconnecting cables.

Figure 6: This image demonstrates the "Many-to-One Mode" feature, showing multiple laptops (each with a transmitter) wirelessly connecting to a single receiver, which is then connected to a large display, allowing for one-click switching between sources.
6. Maintenance
The POFAN Q5-TX Wireless HDMI Transmitter requires minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity and optimal performance:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Power: Always use the recommended power source (USB-C 5V) to power the transmitter if the HDMI source does not provide sufficient power.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your POFAN Q5-TX Wireless HDMI Transmitter, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
- No Signal on Display:
- Ensure the transmitter is properly connected to the source device's HDMI output.
- Verify the transmitter is receiving power (check the indicator light). If necessary, connect a USB-C power source.
- Confirm the receiver is powered on and correctly connected to the display.
- Ensure the display is set to the correct HDMI input channel.
- Perform the re-pairing procedure as described in Section 4.
- Intermittent Signal or Poor Quality:
- Reduce the distance between the transmitter and receiver.
- Ensure there are no significant obstructions (walls, large metal objects) between the devices.
- Minimize interference from other wireless devices operating on 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies.
- Check if the source device's resolution is supported by the receiver and display.
- Transmitter Not Pairing:
- Follow the "Initial Pairing Process" or "Reset and Re-pairing Procedure" carefully (Section 4).
- Ensure the receiver is in "Ready to Pair" mode.
- Confirm the transmitter's indicator light is flashing during its pairing attempt.
- Audio Issues:
- Verify that the source device is outputting audio via HDMI.
- Check audio settings on your display or connected audio system.
- Ensure the receiver's 3.5mm audio jack (if used) is connected correctly to an audio output device.
