2. Safety Information

  3. Connect the floating cable to the cleaner and the power control box.
  4. Plug the power control box into a grounded power source.
  5. Carefully place the pool cleaner into the pool. Allow it to sink to the bottom and fill with water.

4. Operating Instructions

The Orca 800 Mate features powerful suction and intelligent navigation for thorough cleaning.

4.1 Starting Operation

  1. Once the cleaner has sunk to the bottom and is filled with water (approximately 1-2 minutes), press the ON/OFF button on the power control box.
  2. The cleaner will begin its cleaning cycle.
  3. Ensure the floating cable is not tangled and has enough slack for the cleaner to move freely.

4.2 Cleaning Modes

The cleaner is equipped with a unique swing plate that automatically reverses its cleaning direction when it touches the pool wall, preventing it from getting stuck. It can traverse the pool bottom and climb inclines up to 30 degrees.

  • Standard Cleaning: The cleaner will operate for 2-3 hours, cleaning the pool bottom, walls, and waterline.
  • Energy Efficiency: Operating at an average cost of 5 cents per hour, this robotic cleaner is an energy-efficient alternative to traditional pool pumps and hoses.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Filter Cleaning

The Orca 800 Mate features superior filtering capabilities, trapping and locking in dirt and debris like leaves and sand. The large filter basket (1 Gallon capacity) is easy to access and clean.

  1. When the cleaning cycle is complete, retrieve the cleaner from the pool.
  2. Allow excess water to drain from the unit.
  3. Open the cleaner's top cover to access the filter basket.
  4. Remove the filter basket and empty any collected debris.
  5. Rinse the filter basket thoroughly with a hose to remove fine particles.
  6. Reinsert the clean filter basket and close the cover securely.

5.2 Storage

Store the cleaner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Cleaner not moving: Ensure the power control box is properly plugged in and the ON/OFF button is pressed. Check for any obstructions in the cleaner's wheels or brushes.
  • Poor cleaning performance: Clean the filter basket thoroughly. Ensure the pool water chemistry is balanced. Check for any large debris blocking the suction inlets.
  • Cleaner getting stuck: The swing plate mechanism should prevent this. If it occurs, manually reposition the cleaner. Ensure the pool bottom is free of large obstacles.
  • Cable tangling: Ensure the floating cable is properly deployed and not excessively long for the pool size. Allow the cleaner to pull only the necessary length of cable.
