Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when using the RUBI Slim Easy Trans Plus. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in injury or damage to materials.

  • Maximum Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 80 kg (176 lbs). Overloading can lead to loss of suction and material drop.
  • Inspect Before Use: Before each use, inspect all components, especially the suction cups, for any signs of wear, damage, or debris. Ensure suction cups are clean and free of dust or particles.
  • Secure Suction: Always ensure all suction cups are firmly attached and have achieved full vacuum before attempting to lift or move any material. Test the grip by gently pulling on the handles.
  • Team Lift: For large or heavy materials, always use the tool with at least two operators to ensure balanced lifting and control.
  • Stable Surface: Ensure the material surface is clean, dry, and non-porous for optimal suction.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, including safety gloves and safety footwear, when handling large format materials.

Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your Slim Easy Trans Plus for use:

  1. Attach Suction Cups to Guides:

Slide the base of each vacuum suction cup into the top groove of the aluminum guides. The suction cups can be positioned at multiple points along the guide to accommodate different material sizes and shapes. Secure them by tightening the red knobs on the suction cup assembly.

  2. Attach Handles to Guides:

Insert the soft-grip handles into the ends of the aluminum guides. The handles can also slide and be removed through the top groove, allowing for flexible positioning based on the material and lifting requirements. Secure them with their respective red knobs.

  3. Adjust Guide Length:

The aluminum guides are retractable and adjustable from 170 cm (67 inches) to 320 cm (126 inches). Adjust the length of the guides to match the dimensions of the material you intend to lift, ensuring adequate support and stability. Lock the guides at the desired length using the locking mechanisms.

  4. Position Suction Cups:

Arrange the six vacuum suction cups along the guides to distribute the weight evenly across the material. For optimal grip and stability, the recommended distance between handles is 700 mm (27.5 inches). Ensure suction cups are placed on a clean, flat, and non-porous section of the material.

Operation

Proper operation of the Slim Easy Trans Plus ensures safe and efficient handling of large format materials.

  1. Prepare the Material:

Ensure the surface of the material to be lifted is clean, dry, and free of dust, debris, or oils. Any contaminants can compromise the suction cup's grip.

  2. Apply Suction Cups:

Place the assembled Slim Easy Trans Plus onto the material. Press each suction cup firmly onto the surface and engage the vacuum lever until the red line on the pump plunger disappears, indicating full vacuum. Repeat for all six suction cups.

  3. Verify Suction:

Before lifting, gently pull on the handles to confirm that all suction cups are securely attached and the material is firmly gripped. If any suction cup loses vacuum (red line reappears), re-pump it until the red line is no longer visible.

  4. Lifting and Transporting:

With two operators, one at each end of the tool, lift the material slowly and steadily. Maintain a balanced grip and coordinate movements to prevent tilting or dropping. The tool is designed for parts up to 3.2 meters (10.5 feet) in length.

  5. Positioning and Setting Down:

Carefully position the material over its intended location. Lower the material slowly and evenly. Once the material is in place, release the vacuum on each suction cup by pressing the release button or lever, then gently remove the tool.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Slim Easy Trans Plus.

  • Clean Suction Cups: After each use, clean the rubber pads of the suction cups with a damp cloth to remove any dust, dirt, or residue. Ensure they are completely dry before storage. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspect Components: Periodically inspect the aluminum guides, handles, and suction cup mechanisms for any signs of damage, bending, or excessive wear. Replace any damaged parts immediately.
  • Lubrication: Lightly lubricate moving parts of the suction cup mechanism if they become stiff, using a silicone-based lubricant. Avoid getting lubricant on the rubber suction pads.
  • Storage: Store the Slim Easy Trans Plus in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Store suction cups with the protective covers on (if available) or with the vacuum released to prevent deformation of the rubber pads.
