5. Setup

5.1 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle can be rotated 360 degrees for optimal grip and control. Loosen the handle clamp, adjust to the desired position, and tighten securely.

5.2 Installing the Depth Stop

Insert the metal depth stop into the hole on the auxiliary handle. Adjust it to the desired drilling depth and secure it by tightening the handle clamp.

5.3 Changing Drill Bits/Chisels

The SDS Plus chuck allows for quick, tool-free changes of SDS Plus bits and chisels.

1. Pull back the chuck sleeve.
2. Insert the SDS Plus bit/chisel into the chuck until it clicks into place.
3. Release the sleeve and pull on the bit to ensure it is securely locked.

For standard drill bits, use the included 13mm self-tightening chuck. Attach it to the SDS Plus chuck, then insert the standard drill bit and tighten.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Mode Selection

The Towallmark RH01 offers four operating modes, selected via a single switch:

• Drilling Mode (Bohren): For drilling in wood, metal, and plastics without impact. Use with the 13mm self-tightening chuck and standard drill bits.
• Hammer Drilling Mode (Hammerbohren): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone with impact. Use with SDS Plus drill bits.
• Chiseling Mode (Meißeln): For light chiseling, chipping, and demolition work in concrete and masonry. Use with SDS Plus chisels.
• Chisel Position Adjustment (Meißelpositioneinstellen): Allows for rotating the chisel to the desired working angle before locking it in chiseling mode.

To change modes, rotate the selector switch to the desired icon. Ensure the tool is unplugged when changing modes to prevent accidental activation.

6.2 Speed Adjustment

The tool features a variable speed trigger and a speed pre-selection dial (0-6) for precise control over RPM and BPM, suitable for different materials and bit sizes.

6.3 General Operation Tips

• Always hold the tool firmly with both hands.
• Apply steady, even pressure. Do not lean heavily on the tool; let the hammer action do the work.
• For hammer drilling, allow the bit to rotate freely before applying pressure.
• When chiseling, use short, controlled bursts rather than continuous operation to prevent overheating.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rotary hammer.

• Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Remove dust and debris from ventilation openings. Do not use harsh chemicals.
• Lubrication: The gear housing requires periodic lubrication. Use the provided grease and apply it to the SDS Plus chuck mechanism to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear.
• Carbon Brushes: The carbon brushes are wear parts. If the motor performance decreases or sparks become excessive, the carbon brushes may need replacement. Refer to the included carbon brush replacement instructions or consult a qualified service technician.
• Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for damage. If damaged, have it replaced by a qualified professional.
