4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.

4.2 Assembly of Work Table

Attach the work table to the main unit using the provided hardware. Ensure the table is level and securely fastened. Refer to the diagram below for proper alignment.

4.3 Blade Installation (if not pre-installed)

1. Unplug the saw from the power source.
2. Open the upper and lower wheel covers.
3. Loosen the blade tension knob to retract the upper wheel.
4. Carefully position the blade around the upper and lower wheels, ensuring the teeth point downwards towards the table.
5. Adjust the blade tension until the blade is taut but not overly tight.
6. Close the wheel covers.

4.4 Blade Guide Adjustment

Adjust the upper and lower blade guides so they are just clear of the blade, typically 0.002-0.004 inches (0.05-0.1 mm) on each side. The thrust bearing should be positioned just behind the blade, not touching it when idle.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

To turn on the band saw, press the green 'ON' button. To turn off, press the red 'OFF' button. Always allow the blade to reach full speed before beginning a cut and to come to a complete stop before leaving the machine.

5.2 Making Straight Cuts

For straight cuts, use the rip fence. Adjust the fence to the desired width and secure it. Feed the workpiece slowly and steadily into the blade, keeping it firmly against the fence and table.

5.3 Making Curved Cuts

For curved cuts, do not use the rip fence. Mark your cutting line on the workpiece. Feed the material slowly, guiding it along the marked line. Avoid twisting the blade, which can cause it to bind or break.

5.4 Adjusting Table Angle

The work table can be tilted from 0° to 45° for bevel cuts. Loosen the table locking knob, adjust to the desired angle using the angle scale, and then securely tighten the knob.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your band saw.

6.1 Blade Replacement

Replace dull or damaged blades promptly. Follow the blade installation steps (Section 4.3) in reverse to remove the old blade, and then install the new one.

6.2 Cleaning

After each use, unplug the saw and use a brush or vacuum to remove sawdust and debris from the table, blade, and internal components. Do not use solvents that may damage plastic parts.

6.3 Lubrication

Periodically apply a light machine oil to moving parts such as the blade tension mechanism and table tilt pivot points. Refer to the saw's diagrams for specific lubrication points.

6.4 Storage
