3. System Overview

The ANNKE H800 system provides high-definition surveillance with advanced features. It consists of a Network Video Recorder (NVR) and multiple Power over Ethernet (PoE) cameras.

3.1. Network Video Recorder (NVR)

The NVR is the central unit for recording, storing, and managing video footage from all connected cameras. It supports H.265+ video compression for efficient storage and 4K (8MP) resolution for clear playback. A 2TB security-grade hard drive is included for continuous 24/7 recording, and the system is compatible with up to 12MP cameras.

3.2. PoE IP Cameras

The included 8MP IP cameras connect to the NVR via Ethernet cables, which also supply power (PoE). Key features include:

4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your ANNKE H800 PoE Security Camera System.

4.1. NVR Installation

  1. Connect to Power: Connect the NVR to a power outlet using the provided power adapter.
  2. Connect to Monitor: Connect the NVR to a monitor or TV using the HDMI cable.
  3. Connect USB Mouse: Plug the USB mouse into a USB port on the NVR for navigation.
  4. Network Connection (Optional but Recommended): Connect the NVR to your router using a network cable for remote access and firmware updates.

4.2. Camera Installation

The cameras use Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning a single Ethernet cable provides both power and video transmission.

  1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a suitable location for each camera, ensuring optimal viewing angles and coverage. Consider factors like height, potential obstructions, and proximity to the NVR (cable length).
  2. Mount Cameras: Use the provided screws and wall plugs to securely mount each camera. Adjust the camera's angle as needed.
  3. Connect Network Cables: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the camera's RJ45 port. Use the waterproof lid to protect the connection if installing outdoors.
  4. Connect to NVR: Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an available PoE port on the NVR. The camera will power on automatically.

After connecting all cameras, the NVR will automatically detect and display the camera feeds on the connected monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first boot, the NVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard to configure basic settings such as language, date/time, network settings, and password creation. It is crucial to set a strong password for security.

5.2. Live View and Playback

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No video display from camera
  • Loose network cable connection
  • No power to camera
  • Faulty camera or NVR port
  • Check and re-secure network cable at both ends.
  • Ensure NVR is powered on and PoE port is active.
  • Try connecting the camera to a different NVR port or a different camera to the same port to isolate the issue.
Cannot access NVR remotely via app
  • NVR not connected to internet
  • Incorrect network settings
  • App configuration error
  • Verify NVR's network cable is connected to the router and router has internet access.
  • Check NVR's network settings (IP address, DNS).
  • Re-add the NVR to the ANNKE Vision app. Ensure correct device ID/QR code is used.
Frequent false motion alerts
  • High sensitivity setting
  • Environmental factors (e.g., moving branches, shadows)
  • Adjust motion detection sensitivity in NVR settings.
  • Configure motion detection zones to exclude areas with frequent non-threat movements.
  • Ensure AI human/vehicle detection is enabled.
