2. Safety Information

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling batteries and electrical components.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.
  • Do not attempt to open or modify the battery case or its internal components beyond the intended assembly process.
  • Keep the battery case away from water, excessive heat, and direct sunlight.
  • Use only compatible battery cells and charging equipment. Refer to battery cell manufacturer guidelines for safe handling and charging.
  • In case of malfunction or damage, disconnect the battery pack immediately and seek professional assistance.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in your package:

  • 1 x 12V 100Ah Battery Case (ABS Plastic Shell)
  • 1 x Handle

4. Setup and Assembly

This battery case is designed for DIY assembly of a LiFePO4 battery pack using 32700, 26650, or 18650 cells. The case includes internal components to facilitate this assembly.

4.1 Internal Components

Upon opening the battery case, you will find:

  • Battery cell holders to secure individual cells.
  • Nickel plates for connecting battery cells in series/parallel.
  • A top cover to secure the internal components.

A separate controller board (BMS) is typically required for proper battery management and protection, which may need to be purchased separately based on your specific wattage and voltage requirements.

4.2 Battery Cell Installation

Insert your chosen 18650, 26650, or 32700 battery cells into the provided cell holders. Once all cells are in place, use the nickel plates to connect them according to your desired series and parallel configuration. Secure the top cover after assembly.

5. Operating Instructions

The XBERSTAR battery case is designed for ease of use with multiple output options and an integrated display.

5.1 Powering On/Off

Locate the main power switch on the top panel of the battery case. Toggle it to the 'ON' position to activate the outputs and LCD display. Switch to 'OFF' when not in use to conserve power.

5.2 LCD Display

The integrated LCD display provides real-time information on the battery's voltage and approximate capacity. This allows for easy monitoring of your power levels.

5.3 Output Ports

The case features various output ports:

  • Standard Terminals: For direct connection to 12V systems.
  • USB Ports: For charging small electronic devices.
  • 12V Cigarette Lighter Style Output: For compatible 12V accessories.
  • Anderson 50A Connectors: For high-current applications, such as connecting to solar panels for charging or powering larger devices.

5.4 Maximum Current Load

All sockets are connected in series. The maximum current that can be sustained by all currents added together is 30A. Ensure your connected devices do not exceed this limit to prevent damage to the battery case or devices.

Video: Illustrates the maximum current load capacity of the battery case outputs.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect the battery case for any signs of damage, cracks, or loose connections.
  • Keep the terminals and connections clean and free from corrosion. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the case.
  • If individual battery cells become problematic, the modular design allows for replacement of specific cells, extending the lifespan of your battery pack.
  • Store the battery case in a cool, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power Output: Check if the main power switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify all internal battery connections are secure. Ensure the quick-release fuse/breaker is not tripped.
  • LCD Display Not Working: Confirm the battery pack is properly assembled and connected internally. If the issue persists, the display unit may require inspection.
  • Device Not Charging: Ensure the device is compatible with the output port being used. Check the cable for damage. Verify the battery case has sufficient charge.
  • Overheating: Disconnect all devices immediately. Ensure proper ventilation around the battery case. Reduce the load if multiple high-power devices are connected.
