Wiltec 62935
Wiltec Submersible Pump 400W User Manual
Model: 62935
Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Wiltec 400W Submersible Pump. This pump is designed for draining and pumping both clean and dirty water, capable of handling particles up to 5 mm in diameter. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure proper function and longevity of the product.

Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury and damage to the pump:
- Ensure the power supply matches the voltage specified on the pump's rating label (230V AC).
- Do not operate the pump if the power cable or plug is damaged.
- Never lift or carry the pump by its power cable. Use the integrated carry handle.
- Do not use the pump for flammable, explosive, or corrosive liquids.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged during operation to prevent dry running and overheating.
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the operating pump.
- Disconnect the pump from the power supply before any maintenance, cleaning, or when not in use.
- Protect the pump from frost.
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
- Hose Connection: Attach a suitable hose to the pump's outlet. The pump features a universal coupling for standard hoses. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection. The pump supports connections for 38 mm (1½") AG and 47 mm (1½") AG.
- Placement: Position the pump on a stable, flat surface in the water to be drained. Ensure the pump is fully submerged. The maximum immersion depth is 7 meters.
- Float Switch Adjustment: The float switch controls the automatic on/off function of the pump. Adjust the cable length of the float switch to set the desired water levels for activation and deactivation. A shorter cable length will result in a smaller operating range (pump turns on and off more frequently), while a longer cable length provides a wider range. Ensure the float switch can move freely.
- Electrical Connection: Plug the pump into a grounded power outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a residual current device (RCD) for safety.

Operating the Pump
The Wiltec submersible pump operates automatically via its integrated float switch.
- Automatic Operation: Once connected to power and submerged, the pump will automatically start when the water level rises and lifts the float switch to its 'ON' position. It will continue to pump until the water level drops, causing the float switch to fall to its 'OFF' position.
- Manual Operation (Continuous): For continuous operation, the float switch can be secured in an upright position (e.g., by attaching it to the pump handle). This will keep the pump running regardless of the water level. Caution: Do not allow the pump to run dry in manual mode, as this can cause severe damage. Always monitor the pump during manual operation.
- Monitoring: Periodically check the pump's operation and the water level to ensure efficient drainage and prevent dry running.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the pump from the power supply. Rinse the pump thoroughly with clean water after each use, especially when pumping dirty water, to remove any debris or sediment. Pay attention to the intake screen at the bottom of the pump.
- Checking for Blockages: If the pump's performance decreases, check the intake screen and impeller area for blockages. The pump can handle particles up to 5 mm, but larger debris or fibrous materials can cause issues. Clear any obstructions carefully.
- Float Switch: Ensure the float switch is clean and moves freely. Debris can impede its movement, affecting automatic operation.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, completely drain the pump of all water to prevent freezing damage. Store the pump in a dry, frost-free location.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply. Float switch not activated. Motor overloaded/overheated. | Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure water level is high enough to lift float switch. Disconnect power, let pump cool down, check for blockages. |
| Pump runs but no water is pumped or flow is low. | Intake screen blocked. Hose kinked or blocked. Air lock. Pump not fully submerged. | Clean intake screen. Check and clear hose. Tilt pump slightly to release trapped air. Ensure pump is fully immersed in water. |
| Pump runs continuously. | Float switch stuck in 'ON' position. Water level not dropping below 'OFF' level. | Check float switch for free movement and clear any debris. Adjust float switch cable length or ensure proper drainage. |
| Unusual noise or vibration. | Debris in impeller. Pump not stable. | Disconnect power and carefully inspect/clear impeller. Place pump on a stable, flat surface. |
