Setup

  1. Battery Installation:

    Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the clock. Insert one AA battery (not included) into the compartment, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) is observed. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

  2. Initial Synchronization:

    Once the battery is inserted, the clock hands will automatically move to the 12 o'clock position. The clock will then begin searching for the WWVB radio signal from Fort Collins, Colorado. This process may take several minutes to an hour, depending on your location and signal strength. For best reception, place the clock near a window, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.

  3. Setting Time Zone:

    Locate the "ZONE" switch on the back of the clock. Adjust this switch to your corresponding time zone (P for Pacific, M for Mountain, C for Central, E for Eastern). The clock will automatically adjust to the correct time for your selected zone once the signal is received.

  4. Daylight Saving Time (DST):

    The clock has a "DST" switch. Set it to "ON" for automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustments, or "OFF" if your region does not observe DST. The clock will automatically adjust itself when DST begins or ends.

Manual Time Setting (If needed)

In rare cases, if the clock fails to synchronize or you wish to set the time manually, you can use the "M SET" button on the back of the clock. Press and hold the "M SET" button to advance the hands. Release the button when the hands reach the desired time. The clock will attempt to re-synchronize with the atomic signal later.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the clock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the AA battery annually or when the clock hands stop moving or become erratic.
