Setup

Charging

Before first use, fully charge your Cardo Spirit HD unit. A full charge provides up to 13 hours of talk time. For quick use, a 20-minute charge can provide 2 hours of talk time.

Helmet Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal audio performance and comfort. The Cardo Spirit HD offers flexible mounting options to suit various helmet types.

Speaker Placement

The 40mm HD speakers should be positioned directly over your ears for the best sound quality and volume. If your helmet has speaker cutouts, use them as a starting point. If the speakers press uncomfortably against your ears or you experience pain, they might be too high. Use the included speaker booster pads to bring the speakers closer to your ears if they are too far away, ensuring full volume and no discomfort.

Microphone Installation

  • Hybrid Boom Microphone: Ideal for open-face or 3/4 helmets. Position the microphone close to your mouth, ensuring the yellow triangle on the mic is facing your mouth for optimal input.
  • Wired Microphone: Recommended for full-face helmets. This microphone is designed to be placed inside the helmet's chin bar, directly in front of your mouth.

Unit Mounting

The Spirit HD unit can be mounted using either the spring tension clamp or the adhesive plate. The clamp is suitable for most helmets with a thin edge. For thicker helmet edges or specific preferences, the adhesive plate provides a secure alternative. Always clean the helmet surface with an alcohol swab before applying the adhesive plate for a strong bond.

Wire Management

Route all speaker and microphone wires neatly behind the helmet's padding to prevent discomfort and ensure a clean installation. Ensure there is enough slack to avoid tension on the wires when the helmet padding is reinstalled.
