The Cardo Freecom 4X is a state-of-the-art Bluetooth communication system designed for motorcyclists, offering live intercom, high-definition audio by JBL, natural voice operation, and robust waterproof design.

Setup and Installation

1. Mounting the Unit

The Freecom 4X unit can be mounted to most helmet types using either the clamp or adhesive plate. Ensure the mounting location allows for easy access to controls and does not obstruct helmet functionality.

2. Speaker and Microphone Installation

Position the JBL speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets. Use the provided Velcro pads and boosters to ensure a snug fit and optimal sound quality. Select the appropriate microphone (corded for full-face helmets, hybrid for open-face or modular helmets) and position it correctly for clear voice pickup.

3. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the Freecom 4X unit using the supplied USB Type-C cable. A full charge provides up to 13 hours of talk time. A 20-minute fast charge can provide 2 hours of talk time.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off and Volume Control

To power on, press and hold the Power button until the LED flashes. To power off, press and hold the Power button until the LED turns red. Adjust volume using the control wheel.

Live Intercom

The Freecom 4X supports 4-way Bluetooth intercom with auto-reconnect, up to a range of 1.2 km (0.75 miles). To initiate an intercom conversation, simply speak. The system automatically connects with paired riders.

Natural Voice Operation

Control your Freecom 4X hands-free by simply saying "Hey Cardo" followed by a command. This allows you to manage calls, music, and intercom without pressing buttons.

Phone and GPS Connectivity

Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to make and receive calls, and stream GPS navigation instructions directly to your helmet speakers. Use voice commands or the control wheel for seamless interaction.

Music Streaming and FM Radio

Stream music from your smartphone or enjoy the built-in FM radio with RDS for automatic strongest signal selection. Share your music with a passenger or another rider.
