Introduction

The Hotone Ampero II Stomp is a powerful and versatile amplifier and effects modeler designed for guitarists and bassists. It features a triple-core DSP platform, ESS Sabre AD/DA conversion, and advanced CDCM HD & F.I.R.E. modeling technology to deliver high-quality, organic tones. Setup

Initial Setup

Before using your Ampero II Stomp, ensure it is placed on a stable surface and all connections are secure. Always power on your Ampero II Stomp after connecting all audio cables and power supply.

Connecting Power

Connect the included 18V DC power adapter to the 'POWER' input on the rear panel of the Ampero II Stomp. Ensure the power switch is in the 'OFF' position before connecting, then switch to 'ON' to power the unit.

Audio Connections

The Ampero II Stomp offers various audio input and output options:

  • Input: Connect your instrument (guitar, bass, etc.) to the L (MONO) or R input jacks.
  • Balanced Output: Use the L (MONO) and R balanced XLR outputs to connect to a mixer, audio interface, or PA system.
  • Unbalanced Output: Use the L (MONO) and R unbalanced 1/4" outputs for connecting to an amplifier or other audio equipment.
  • EXP/CTRL: Connect an external expression pedal or footswitch for additional control.
  • AUX In: Connect an external audio source (e.g., MP3 player) for practice.
  • Headphone Out: Connect headphones for silent practice.

USB Connection

Connect the Ampero II Stomp to your computer via the USB port. This allows for firmware updates, direct recording (8-in/8-out audio interface), and use with the dedicated editing software for patch management and detailed effect parameter adjustments.

MIDI Connection

The Ampero II Stomp supports MIDI input and output, allowing integration with other MIDI-compatible devices for advanced control and synchronization.

Operating

User Interface

The Ampero II Stomp features an 800 x 480 pixel touch-sensitive screen for intuitive navigation and parameter editing. The three footswitches control patch switching and other assigned functions.

Navigating Menus

Use the touch screen to select and adjust parameters. The 'MENU/VALUE' knob can be used for fine-tuning values and navigating menus as an alternative to touch input.

Patch Management

The unit allows for storing and recalling numerous patches. Patches can be edited directly on the device or via the computer editing software. The Ampero II Stomp supports up to 300 patches in groups of 3 with the firmware 2.0 update, including SCENES functionality.

Effects and Amp Modeling

The Ampero II Stomp offers 87 amplifier emulations (including classic British, American, and bass amps) and 68 cabinet simulations (including 20 Celestion IRs). It features 186 effects across 25 types, including overdrive/distortion, delay, reverb, compressor, boost, filter, wah, and pitch effects. Up to 12 effect modules can be used simultaneously in a dual-effect chain, supporting both serial and parallel signal paths.

Looper Functionality

An integrated stereo looper supports up to 60 seconds of stereo recording. Features include undo/redo, 1/2 speed playback, and reverse recording/playback.

Maintenance

Care and Cleaning

To ensure the longevity of your Ampero II Stomp, follow these guidelines:

  • Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not block ventilation openings.
