4.2. Playing Discs

After inserting a disc, open your preferred media player and select the drive to begin playback.
4.3. Burning and Ripping Discs
To burn data to blank CDs/DVDs or rip content from discs to your computer, you will need burning or ripping software. Examples include Nero (for burning) or various ripping tools available online.
- Burning: Use burning software to select files (music, videos, photos, documents) and write them to a blank CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, or DVD-RW disc.

7. Power Supply
The ROOFULL External CD DVD Drive typically draws power directly from your computer's USB port via the integrated data cable. However, some USB ports, especially on older or low-power devices, may not provide sufficient power for stable operation.
If you experience issues such as the drive not being recognized, intermittent operation, or slow performance, connect the included USB power supply cord to the drive's dedicated power port and then to a reliable 5V USB power source (e.g., a USB wall adapter, power bank, or a powered USB hub). The power supply cord is for power only and does not transmit data.

Figure 7: Illustrates connecting the external power supply cord to ensure adequate power for the drive.
8. DVD Region Code Information
DVDs are region-coded to restrict playback to specific geographical areas. Your ROOFULL External CD DVD Drive will only play DVDs that use the same region country codes. For example, if you are in the U.S. or Canada, you are in Region 1, and you need to set the DVD drive Region code to #1 to play Region 1 DVDs. CDs are not region-coded.
Important: Each external optical drive only allows you to change the region code 4-5 times. After that, the region code will be permanently locked to the last setting.
DVD Region Codes:
- Region 1: Canada, United States
- Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East
- Region 3: Southeast Asia, East Asia (including Hong Kong)
- Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America
- Region 5: Eastern Europe, Russia, Indian Subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
