Operating Instructions

Modular Chin Guard Operation

To switch between helmet modes, grasp the chin guard firmly and rotate it upwards or backwards. The 180° reversible design allows the chin guard to fully retract to the rear of the helmet for an open-face configuration. Ensure the chin guard locks securely into place in your desired position before riding.

Visor Operation

  • Clear Visor: Use the tab on the lower edge of the clear visor to raise or lower it.
  • Tinted Visor: The tinted visor operates independently. Use the small lever or tab located on the side of the helmet to retract or deploy the tinted visor.

Quick-Release Strap

The helmet features a quick-release strap for easy and secure fastening. To fasten, insert the male end into the female buckle until it clicks. To release, pull the red tab on the female buckle to disengage the strap.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Helmet Shell

Use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap to clean the exterior of the helmet. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and protective coatings.

Cleaning the Visors

Remove the visors before cleaning. Use warm water and a soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used. Rinse thoroughly and air dry or gently wipe with a microfiber cloth. Do not use paper towels or harsh chemicals, which can scratch the visor surface.

Cleaning the Liners

The removable cheek liners can be hand-washed with mild soap and water. Allow them to air dry completely before reinstalling them into the helmet. Ensure they are fully dry to prevent mildew or odors.

Troubleshooting

Visor Fogging

If your visor fogs up, especially in colder weather or high humidity, consider the following:

  • Slightly open the visor to allow for increased airflow.
  • Apply an anti-fog treatment to the inside of the visor.
  • Ensure proper ventilation by checking that all vents are open and clear of obstructions.

Helmet Feels Too Tight or Loose

Proper fit is crucial for safety and comfort. If the helmet feels too tight or too loose, especially around the cheeks, you may need to adjust the liner size. ILM offers replacement liners in different sizes. Contact ILM customer service with your order number for assistance with liner replacement.
