3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning the Easel

To maintain the quality and appearance of your beech wood easel:

  • Wipe down wooden surfaces with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust.
  • For stubborn marks or paint spills, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then immediately wipe dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the wood finish.
  • Periodically check and clean the metal ratchet and adjustment mechanisms to ensure smooth operation.

3.2 Caster Care

The locking swivel casters should be kept free of debris (e.g., hair, lint) to ensure smooth movement. If casters become stiff, clean them and apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant if necessary.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Easel Instability

  • Issue: Easel wobbles or feels unstable during use.
  • Solution: Ensure all assembly screws and adjustment knobs are securely tightened. Verify that the easel is placed on a flat, level surface. If using casters, ensure all four are locked when the easel is stationary.

4.2 Difficulty Adjusting Height or Angle

  • Issue: Canvas support tray or easel angle is difficult to adjust.
  • Solution: Loosen the corresponding adjustment knobs or nuts sufficiently before attempting to move the components. Check for any obstructions or debris in the sliding mechanisms. Ensure the metal ratchet is clean and free of paint buildup.

4.3 Casters Not Rolling Smoothly

  • Issue: Easel casters are stiff or do not roll freely.
  • Solution: Check for and remove any hair, dust, or debris wrapped around the caster wheels. Clean the casters thoroughly. If needed, apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the wheel axles.
