3. Operating Instructions

Powering On and Voltage Adjustment:

Once connected to a power supply, turn on the power supply. The recommended operating voltage range for the Dragonhawk Fold Tattoo Pen Machine is 5V to 12V. Adjust the voltage on your power supply to achieve the desired speed and power for your tattooing technique.

Stroke Length Adjustment:

The Dragonhawk Fold features 7 adjustable stroke lengths: 2.4mm, 2.7mm, 3.0mm, 3.3mm, 3.6mm, 3.9mm, and 4.2mm. To adjust the stroke length, rotate the designated part of the machine. This can be done with one hand, and the stroke part rotates 360 degrees for easy selection. This system allows for adjustments even while the machine is bagged, ensuring a sterile environment.

Applications:

  • Lining: Use shorter stroke lengths (e.g., 2.4mm - 3.0mm) and appropriate voltage for crisp lines.
  • Shading: Medium to longer stroke lengths (e.g., 3.3mm - 3.9mm) are often preferred for smooth shading.
  • Color Packing: Longer stroke lengths (e.g., 3.9mm - 4.2mm) and higher voltage can be effective for efficient color saturation.

Experiment with different stroke lengths and voltages to find the optimal settings for your specific technique and desired results.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Dragonhawk Fold Tattoo Pen Machine.

  • Cleaning: After each use, thoroughly clean the exterior of the machine with a suitable disinfectant wipe. Ensure no ink or debris enters the internal components. The machine is designed to be effortless to cover and protect, facilitating hygiene.
  • Sterilization: While the machine itself is not autoclavable, ensure all components that come into contact with the client (e.g., cartridge needles) are sterile and single-use.
  • Motor Care: The custom Mast coreless motor is designed for reliability and generally does not require maintenance. Avoid disassembling the motor housing.
  • Storage: Store the machine in a clean, dry, and safe place when not in use.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your tattoo machine.

Machine Stops or Stalls During Operation:

  • Low Voltage: The machine may stop or stall if the operating voltage drops too low (e.g., below 7V). Ensure your power supply is providing adequate and stable voltage within the recommended range of 5V-12V.
  • Power Supply Issue: Check your power supply and RCA cable for any damage or loose connections. Try using a different power supply or cable if available.
  • Cartridge Needle Issue: Ensure the cartridge needle is correctly seated and not jammed. A faulty or damaged cartridge can cause resistance.

Excessive Vibration or Noise:

  • Loose Components: Check if all parts, especially the cartridge needle, are securely attached.
  • Damaged Cartridge: A defective cartridge needle can cause unusual vibration. Replace the cartridge.
