2. Setup and Initial Operation
2.1. Unboxing
Your Seiko SRPH33 watch comes securely packaged in a branded box. Please retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
2.2. Setting Time and Day/Date
- To set the time: Pull the crown out to the second click position. Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Push the crown back to the normal position.
- To set the date: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- To set the day: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.
- After setting, push the crown back to the normal position. Avoid setting the day/date between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
2.3. Winding the Watch
The SRPH33 features an automatic movement (Caliber 4R36) that winds itself through the natural motion of your wrist. It also supports manual winding.
- Automatic Winding: Wear the watch regularly. Daily wear for approximately 8-10 hours should provide sufficient power reserve.
- Manual Winding: If the watch has stopped or its power reserve is low, push the crown to the normal position and rotate it clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide enough power to start the watch.
The watch has a power reserve of approximately 41 hours when fully wound.

3. Operating Your Watch
3.1. Automatic Movement (Caliber 4R36)
The Caliber 4R36 is a 24-jewel automatic movement that operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It features both hacking (the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out for precise time setting) and manual winding capabilities.
3.2. Day/Date Display
The watch features a day and date display at the 3 o'clock position. The day display supports multiple languages, typically English and another language, which can be selected during initial setup.
3.3. Water Resistance (10 Bar / 100m)
The Seiko SRPH33 is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters), making it suitable for swimming and showering. However, it is not designed for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your watch, regularly wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the nylon strap, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and air drying.
4.2. Strap Care
The black nylon strap is designed for durability. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which can degrade the material over time. If the strap becomes excessively dirty or worn, consider replacing it with an official Seiko strap or a compatible alternative.
4.3. Crystal Care
The watch features a Hardlex mineral crystal. While more resistant to impact than standard glass, it is still susceptible to scratches from harder materials. Handle your watch with care to prevent damage to the crystal.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. Watch Not Running
If your automatic watch stops running, it likely needs to be wound. Either wear it for several hours or manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise (in the normal position) about 20-30 times.
5.2. Incorrect Time or Date
Refer to Section 2.2 for detailed instructions on how to correctly set the time and day/date. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after adjustments.
5.3. Water Intrusion
If you notice moisture inside the watch crystal, immediately take the watch to an authorized Seiko service center. Do not attempt to open or dry the watch yourself, as this may cause further damage and void the warranty.
