This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your HP Smart Tank 670 All-in-One printer. 2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Preparation
Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Ensure all protective tapes and cardboard inserts are removed from the exterior and interior of the printer. Place the printer on a stable, level surface where it will be used.

2.2 Power Connection and Initial Power On
Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer and then plug the other end into an electrical outlet. Press the power button to turn on the printer. Do not connect the USB cable at this time; the connection to the computer is established during software installation.

2.3 Filling Ink Tanks
Lift the ink access door and open the tank covers. Carefully open each ink bottle, matching the color to the corresponding tank. Invert the bottle over the tank nozzle and allow the ink to drain until the tank is full. Do not squeeze the bottle. If the bottle does not start draining, remove it and reinsert it onto the tank. Close the tank covers and the ink access door once all tanks are filled.
2.4 Installing Printheads
After filling the ink tanks, lift the ink access door again and wait for the carriage to move to the center. Press the blue button to open the printhead cover. Remove and discard the orange guard. Carefully remove the printheads from their packaging, removing the orange cap and protective tape. Insert the black and tri-color printheads into their associated slots. Close the printhead cover and then the ink access door.

2.5 Software Installation
Download the HP Smart app to your mobile device or computer. Ensure your device's operating system is up to date. Enable Bluetooth and location services on your mobile device if using it for setup. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your wireless network and complete the setup. The USB cable should only be connected when prompted by the software.
3. Operating Your Printer
The HP Smart Tank 670 offers convenient all-in-one functionality for printing, scanning, and copying. Its intuitive 2-line LCD and smart guided buttons facilitate easy navigation and access to key functions.
3.1 Printing
Load paper into the 60-sheet input tray. Use the HP Smart app or your computer's print dialogue to send print jobs. The printer supports automatic two-sided (duplex) printing, saving paper and time. It delivers sharp black-and-white prints at up to 12 ppm and vivid color prints at up to 7 ppm.
3.2 Scanning and Copying
Place documents on the flatbed scanner. Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to initiate scanning or copying. The printer supports various media sizes including A4, A5, A6, B5 (JIS), and envelopes.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Ink Refilling
The integrated ink tanks feature an automatic ink sensor to monitor ink levels. When ink levels are low, refill the tanks using genuine HP GT53XL Black and HP GT52 Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow ink bottles. Always match the ink bottle color to the corresponding tank. Refer to section 2.3 for detailed ink refilling instructions.
4.2 Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. For print quality issues, use the printer's maintenance tools via the HP Smart app or control panel to clean printheads or align cartridges.

- Connectivity Problems: Ensure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Check router status and printer's Wi-Fi indicator. Restarting both the printer and router can often resolve connectivity issues.
- Print Quality Issues: If prints are faded, streaky, or have incorrect colors, perform a printhead cleaning or alignment through the HP Smart app or printer settings. Ensure genuine HP ink is used and ink tanks are adequately filled.
- Paper Jams: Follow on-screen prompts or consult the HP Smart app for instructions on clearing paper jams. Always remove paper carefully to avoid tearing.
- Printhead Failure: If a 'Printhead Failure' message appears, ensure printheads are correctly installed and free from protective tape on contacts. If the issue persists, contact HP Support.
