1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your X X-HOUSE Automatic Sensor Gate Opener Exit Wand. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety. This device is designed to detect vehicles and automatically trigger a gate opener system for hands-free exit.
2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect power to the gate opener system before performing any installation or maintenance.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent electrical hazards.
- Bury the wand sensor and its cable at the recommended depth to protect it from damage by vehicles, lawnmowers, or other equipment.
- Keep children and pets away from the gate area during operation.
- Do not attempt to modify the device. Use only original replacement parts if necessary.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

| Power Source | AC/DC |
| Detection Range | 4-12 feet (adjustable) |
| Cable Length | 50 feet (5-core) |
5. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the reliable operation of the Exit Wand. Follow these steps carefully:
5.1. Site Selection
- Distance from Gate: Ensure the distance from the wand to the gate's full open position is more than 25 feet.
- Sense Range: The radius of the sense range is 4-12 feet. Install the wand as close to the driveway as possible to ensure optimal vehicle detection.
- Cable Length: The distance from the wand to the control box should not exceed 45 feet. Allow at least 5 feet of cable for connecting from the ground to the control board.
5.2. Burying the Wand
The wand sensor should be buried 12 inches deep from the ground. It is recommended to run the cable in PVC conduit to the control box to protect it from damage by lawnmowers, weed eaters, or animals.

5.3. Wiring Connections
Connect the 5-core cable from the wand sensor to your gate opener's control board and the range adjustment board as per the wiring diagram. Ensure correct polarity and secure connections.

5.4. Range Adjustment
The range adjustment board allows you to fine-tune the sensitivity of the wand sensor. Turn the knob on the range adjustment board to set the desired detection range (4-12 feet).
6. Operating Instructions
The X X-HOUSE Exit Wand operates by detecting changes in the magnetic field caused by a moving vehicle. When a vehicle approaches within the set detection range, the sensor activates, sending a signal to your gate opener system to open the gate automatically.
- Once installed and powered, the wand will continuously monitor for vehicles.
- When a vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, ATV, etc.) enters the detection zone, the gate will open.
- The system provides hands-free exit, eliminating the need for remotes or keypads when leaving the property.
- Larger vehicles or faster driving speeds may result in higher sensitivity.

7. Maintenance
The X X-HOUSE Exit Wand is designed for minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks are recommended:
- Inspect the cable for any signs of damage or wear, especially where it exits the ground or enters the control box.
- Ensure the area above the buried wand is clear of large metal objects that could interfere with its magnetic field detection.
- Keep the control box free from moisture, dust, and debris.
8. Troubleshooting
If the Exit Wand is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- No Detection:
- Verify all electrical connections are correct and secure.
- Ensure the Range Adjustment is set to an appropriate level, try setting it to maximum range for testing.
- Disconnect power to the wand, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect. Ensure no metal objects or vehicles are near the wand during its calibration period (first 60 seconds after power-up).
- Check the wand's placement relative to the driveway and gate, ensuring it meets the recommended distances and depth.
- Intermittent Operation:
- Inspect the cable for any damage that might cause intermittent signal loss.
- Ensure there are no new sources of electromagnetic interference near the wand.
