Intex ZX50 features diagram

Diagram illustrating key features and requirements of the ZX50.

  • Required Filter Pump Flow Rate: The cleaner requires a filter pump with a flow rate between 3407 and 5678 L/h for optimal performance.
  • Hose Connection: It connects to a 650 cm (6.5 meters) long hose with a 38mm diameter, which is included and designed to be anti-tangle.
  • Movement: The robot moves autonomously across the pool floor.
  • Cleaning Mechanism: Equipped with two rotating brushes to scrub and collect debris.
  • Debris Collection: Features a 0.8 L debris container and a 0.3 mm fine mesh filter for efficient collection of particles.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your ZX50 Robotic Pool Cleaner.

  • Emptying Debris Container: Regularly empty the 0.8 L debris container to prevent clogging and maintain suction power.
  • Cleaning the Fine Mesh Filter: Clean the 0.3 mm fine mesh filter frequently to ensure optimal filtration and prevent reduction in cleaning efficiency.
  • Hose Inspection: Periodically inspect the 6.5-meter anti-tangle hose for any blockages or damage. Ensure it is free of air pockets, as trapped air can reduce suction.
  • Brush Inspection: Check the two rotating brushes for wear and tear. Over time, bristles may wear down, reducing cleaning effectiveness.
  • General Cleaning: Rinse the robot with fresh water after each use to remove chlorine and chemical residues.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ZX50 Robotic Pool Cleaner.

  • Robot Not Moving or Losing Suction:
    • Ensure your filter pump meets the required flow rate (3407 to 5678 L/h).
    • Check for air trapped in the hose or the filter pump system. Submerge the cleaner and hose slowly to allow all air to escape before connecting to the pump.
    • Verify that the debris container and fine mesh filter are clean and not clogged.
    • Confirm that the hose connections are secure and there are no leaks.
  • Robot Getting Stuck or Not Cleaning Corners/Walls:
    • The ZX50 is primarily designed for cleaning the pool floor. While it may dislodge some dirt from walls, it is not designed to climb them.
    • If the robot frequently gets stuck, ensure the pool floor is free of large obstacles.
    • Periodically check on the robot during operation and gently reposition it if it remains stationary for an extended period.
  • Reduced Cleaning Effectiveness:
    • Clean the debris container and filter thoroughly.
    • Inspect the rotating brushes for wear. Worn brushes may need replacement to maintain optimal scrubbing action.
    • Ensure your filter pump is operating at its full capacity and the filter media (cartridge or sand) is clean.
