Setup

1. Battery Installation:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the tachometer.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
  3. Insert one 9V 6F22 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Attaching Contact Adapters (for Contact Measurements):

For contact RPM or line speed measurements, select the appropriate adapter (pointed, conical, or flat wheel) and firmly attach it to the measurement spindle at the top of the tachometer.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off:

  • Press the ON/OFF button to turn the tachometer on.
  • Press the ON/OFF button again to turn the tachometer off.

2. Selecting Measurement Mode:

Press the FUNC button to cycle through the available measurement modes:

  • Photoelectric RPM: For non-contact measurements using reflective tape.
  • Rotation Speed (Contact RPM): For contact measurements using the pointed or conical adapter.
  • Line Speed (M/min): For contact measurements using the flat wheel adapter.

3. Taking Measurements:

For Photoelectric RPM (Non-Contact):

  1. Attach a piece of the provided reflective adhesive tape to the rotating object.
  2. Select "Photoelectric RPM" mode using the FUNC button.
  3. Point the tachometer's photoelectric sensor towards the reflective tape on the rotating object. Ensure the effective distance is approximately 50-500mm.
  4. Press and hold the TEST button. The RPM reading will appear on the LCD.
  5. Release the TEST button to hold the last reading.

For Rotation Speed (Contact RPM) and Line Speed (M/min):

  1. Attach the appropriate contact adapter (pointed/conical for RPM, flat wheel for M/min) to the spindle.
  2. Select "Rotation Speed" or "Line Speed" mode using the FUNC button.
  3. Gently press the contact adapter against the center of the rotating shaft (for RPM) or the surface of the moving line (for M/min).
  4. Press and hold the TEST button. The reading will appear on the LCD.
  5. Release the TEST button to hold the last reading.

4. Memory Function:

After taking a measurement, press the MEM button to cycle through stored values:

  • MAX: Displays the maximum measured value.
  • MIN: Displays the minimum measured value.
  • LAST: Displays the last measured value.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Wipe the exterior of the tachometer with a soft, dry cloth.

Storage:

Battery Replacement:

When the battery indicator on the LCD shows low power, replace the 9V 6F22 battery following the installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.

Troubleshooting

  • Insufficient pressure applied to the rotating object. Ensure firm contact.
  • Object surface is uneven or slipping.
Display shows "OVER" or "----".
  • Measurement value exceeds the maximum range of the device.
  • No signal detected (for photoelectric mode). Ensure proper alignment and reflective tape.
