Setup and Adjustment
Unpacking
Carefully remove the goggles from their packaging. Inspect for any visible damage. Keep the protective film on the lens until ready for use.
Strap Adjustment
The goggle strap is adjustable to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Adjust the strap length evenly on both sides until the goggles fit snugly around your head or helmet without being too tight. The strap should hold the goggles firmly in place without causing pressure points.
Helmet Compatibility
These goggles are designed to be compatible with most ski and snowboard helmets. Ensure a seamless fit between the top edge of the goggles and the brim of your helmet to prevent gaps and maximize comfort and protection.
Operating Instructions
Attaching and Detaching the Magnetic Lens
The ALPINA Double Jack Mag Q features a magnetic lens system for quick changes. To attach the magnetic lens, align it with the base lens and allow the magnets to snap it into place. Ensure it is securely seated around the entire frame. To detach, gently pull the magnetic lens away from the frame, starting from one corner.
Wearing with Eyeglasses (OTG - Over The Glasses)
These goggles are designed to accommodate prescription eyeglasses. Carefully place your eyeglasses on your face first, then position the goggles over them. The frame's design provides sufficient space to prevent pressure on your eyeglasses, ensuring comfort and clear vision.
Ventilation
The goggles are equipped with ventilation systems to minimize fogging. Avoid blocking the vents with your helmet or other gear. If fogging occurs, try to increase airflow by slightly adjusting your helmet or goggles.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Lens
- Exterior Lens: Gently wipe the outer lens with the provided microfiber goggle bag or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Interior Lens: The inner lens has an anti-fog coating. Do not wipe the inner lens. If it gets wet, gently dab it with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry. Wiping can damage the anti-fog coating.
Cleaning the Frame and Strap
Wipe the goggle frame and strap with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage.
Storage
Store your goggles in the provided goggle bag or a protective case when not in use. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid placing them face down on hard surfaces to prevent scratches.
Troubleshooting
Fogging
- Ensure proper ventilation by not blocking air vents.
- Avoid placing goggles on your forehead, as this can transfer moisture and heat from your skin.
- Do not wipe the inner lens, as this can damage the anti-fog coating.
Lens Scratches
- Always store goggles in their protective bag or case.
- Clean lenses only with appropriate soft cloths and avoid abrasive materials.
Magnetic Lens Not Attaching Securely
- Ensure the magnetic lens and frame are clean and free of debris that might obstruct the magnets.
- Align the lens carefully before allowing the magnets to engage.
