  • 1 x JST SH 1.0 6pin Cable
  • 1 x Manual Guide (this document)

Connection and Configuration:

  1. Connect the Falcon Nano Camera to the Digital Vista FPV Transmitter using the provided cable.
  2. Mount the camera and transmitter securely on your FPV drone, ensuring proper ventilation for the transmitter.
  3. Connect the power cable from the transmitter to your drone's power distribution board (PDB) or flight controller, adhering to voltage specifications.
  4. Attach the IPEX antenna to the transmitter.
  5. For initial setup and firmware updates, connect the FPV Air Unit to your computer using a USB cable. Ensure you use DJI Assistant 2 FPV software for proper recognition and configuration. Standard DJI Assistant 2 may not recognize the device.
  6. Pair the FPV Air Unit with your DJI FPV Goggles and DJI FPV Remote Controller according to DJI's pairing instructions.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the RunCam Falcon Nano Digital FPV Camera Kit is properly installed and configured, you can begin operation.

Video Transmission:

  • The system provides 1080p video capture at 120 frames per second (fps) with a low latency of 28ms.
  • Output resolution to your FPV goggles is 720p.
  • Switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios as preferred for your flight experience. The 4:3 ratio is native to the sensor and often preferred for FPV racing.

Power Settings:

Adjust the video transmission power (VTX power) through your DJI FPV Goggles settings. Available power options include 25mW, 200mW, 500mW, and 700mW. Higher power settings generally provide greater range and penetration but consume more power and may generate more heat.

DJI FPV Goggles Settings Menu:

The RunCam Falcon Nano supports the DJI FPV Goggles setting menu, allowing pilots to adjust various camera parameters such as brightness and saturation directly through their goggles. This enables optimization of the video feed for different lighting conditions and flight environments.

Multi-Drone Operation:

The system's eight frequency channels allow for simultaneous operation of up to eight drones. Ensure each drone is set to a unique channel to prevent cross-interference and ensure an optimal racing or flying experience.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your RunCam Falcon Nano Digital FPV Camera Kit.

  • Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lens with a microfiber cloth designed for optics. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Keep the transmitter free from dust and debris.
  • Storage: Store the kit in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all cables for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately to prevent electrical issues.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the RunCam official website for firmware updates. Keeping your device's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, add features, and resolve bugs.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your RunCam Falcon Nano Digital FPV Camera Kit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device not recognized by computerIncorrect DJI Assistant software used.Ensure you are using DJI Assistant 2 FPV, not the standard DJI Assistant 2. Download the correct version from DJI's official website.
Poor video quality or signal lossLow VTX power setting, antenna issues, interference.Increase VTX power in DJI Goggles settings (e.g., to 700mW). Check antenna connection and ensure it is not obstructed. Fly in an area with less RF interference.
Camera appears too dark in low lightCamera settings not optimized for low light.Adjust brightness and exposure settings within the DJI FPV Goggles menu. The Falcon Nano has good low-light performance, but manual adjustment may be necessary.
Cannot exit low power modePossible software glitch or specific setting.Ensure the drone is armed and flying, as some systems automatically reduce power when disarmed. Check for firmware updates. If the issue persists, contact RunCam support.

If you experience issues not covered here, please refer to the support section.
