5. Setup
5.1 Charging and Installing the Battery
- Insert the LP-E6N battery into the LC-E6 charger. The charging indicator will illuminate.
- Once charging is complete, the indicator will turn off. Remove the battery.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the charged battery into the compartment, ensuring it clicks into place. Close the cover.
5.2 Inserting a Memory Card
The camera uses SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.
- Open the memory card slot cover on the side of the camera.
- Insert the memory card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
- Close the memory card slot cover.
- To remove, push the card in once to release it, then pull it out.
5.3 Attaching the Lens
- Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
- Align the red dot on the lens with the red dot on the camera's lens mount.
- Rotate the lens clockwise until it clicks into place.
- To remove the lens, press the lens release button and rotate the lens counter-clockwise.

The W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter is an SD-card-sized accessory that provides Wi-Fi connectivity.

- Open the memory card slot cover.
