1. Product Overview

The NICREW Automatic Pet Feeder PP006 is designed to provide scheduled and portion-controlled meals for your small to medium-sized cats and dogs. It features a 3.5L capacity, programmable feeding schedules, a voice recorder, and an anti-clogging mechanism to ensure reliable food delivery. The feeder is constructed with BPA-free materials and includes a removable stainless steel bowl for hygiene.

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Assembly

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Install Food Bowl: Place the stainless steel bowl into its designated slot at the base of the feeder.
3. Open Lid: Rotate the top lid counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
4. Insert Desiccant: If not pre-installed, place the desiccant bag into the compartment under the lid to keep food fresh. Replace the desiccant every 1-2 months.
5. Fill Food Container: Pour dry pet food (kibble size 5-15mm recommended) into the food container. Do not overfill.
6. Secure Lid: Place the lid back on the feeder and rotate it clockwise until it locks securely. This locking lid design prevents pets from accessing the food directly.

3.2 Power Supply

The feeder supports dual power supply options:

• AC Adapter: Connect the USB cable to the feeder and the power adapter, then plug it into a standard wall outlet. This is the primary power source.
• Battery Backup: For power outage protection, install 3 D-cell batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the feeder. The feeder will automatically switch to battery power if AC power is lost.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

Familiarize yourself with the control panel buttons and display:

• LCD Screen: Displays current time, meal settings, and status.
• Setting Button (⚙): Enters/exits setting mode.
• Up/Down Buttons (▲/▼): Adjusts values or navigates menus.

• Return/Cancel Button (↩): Returns to previous menu or cancels an action.

4.2 Setting Current Time

1. Press the Setting button (⚙) to enter setting mode.
2. Use the Up/Down buttons (▲/▼) to navigate to the time setting option.
3. Press OK to confirm.
4. Adjust the hour and minute using the Up/Down buttons and press OK to move between them.
5. Once the time is set, press the Setting button (⚙) to exit.

4.3 Programming Meal Times and Portions

The feeder allows up to 6 meals per day, with 1 to 20 portions per meal (approximately 9g per portion).

1. Press the Setting button (⚙) to enter setting mode.
2. Navigate to the meal setting (e.g., Meal 1, Meal 2) using the Up/Down buttons.
3. Press OK to select a meal.
4. Set the desired feeding time for that meal using the Up/Down buttons and OK.
5. Set the number of portions (1-20) for that meal using the Up/Down buttons and OK.
6. Repeat for up to 6 meals. To disable a meal, set its time to "--:--" or 0 portions.
7. Press the Setting button (⚙) to save and exit.

4.4 Voice Recording

You can record a 10-second voice message to call your pet at meal times.

1. Press and hold the Recording button (🎤) until the indicator light flashes.
2. Speak your message clearly into the microphone. The recording will automatically stop after 10 seconds or when you release the button.
3. To play back the recording, briefly press the Recording button (🎤).
4. The recorded message will play automatically before each scheduled meal.

4.5 Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually outside of scheduled meal times:

• Briefly press the OK button. Each press will dispense one portion of food.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures hygiene and proper functioning of the feeder.

5.1 Disassembly for Cleaning

The feeder features a detachable structure for easy cleaning:

1. Remove the stainless steel bowl.
2. Unlock and remove the top lid.
3. Carefully detach the food container from the base unit.
4. The food dispensing rotor can also be removed for thorough cleaning.

5.2 Cleaning Instructions

• Food Container, Bowl, Rotor: Wash these parts with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembly. These parts are generally dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
• Main Unit: Wipe the main unit (containing electronics) with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the main unit in water.
• Desiccant Bag: Replace the desiccant bag every 1-2 months to maintain food freshness.

5.3 Reassembly

After cleaning, reassemble the feeder by reversing the disassembly steps. Ensure all parts are securely in place before use.

6. Troubleshooting

• Feeder not dispensing food:
  • Check if the food container is empty.
  • Ensure the feeder is powered on (AC adapter or batteries).
  • Verify meal schedules and portion settings are correctly programmed.
  • Check for food clogging in the dispenser. The feeder has an anti-clogging design where the rotor rotates in the opposite direction if clogged.
• Food clogging:
  • Use kibble within the recommended size range (5-15mm).
  • Ensure the food is dry and not sticky or clumped.
  • Clean the food dispensing mechanism regularly.

• Voice recording not playing:
  • Ensure a message has been successfully recorded.

• Feeder not turning on:
  • Verify the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the feeder and the wall outlet.
  • If using batteries, ensure they are correctly installed and not depleted.
