Operating (Gameplay)
Objective
The objective of Monopoly: Marvel Spider-Man Edition is to capture as many Super Villains as possible, build Spider-Tracers and Spider-Bots on your captured locations, and collect rent from other players who land on them, ultimately bankrupting your opponents.
Player Turn Sequence
- Roll the Dice: The player whose turn it is rolls both dice and moves their token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated.
- Action on Space: The action taken depends on the space landed on:
- Super Villain Space: If unowned, the player may purchase it. If owned, the player pays rent to the owner.
- Daily Bugle Space: Draw a Daily Bugle card and follow its instructions. These cards often involve scheming against opponents.
- Spider-Sense Space: Draw a Spider-Sense card and follow its instructions. These cards can provide advantages or disadvantages.
- Go to Jail: Move directly to the "In Jail" space.
- Go: Collect Web coins when passing or landing on "Go".
- Free Parking: No action required.
- Symbol of Great Responsibility: Landing on this space allows the player to use their chosen Spider-Hero's unique ability as described on their Spider-Power card.
- Building: After moving and taking action, if a player owns all Super Villain spaces in a color set, they may build Blue Spider-Tracers and then Red Spider-Bots on those spaces to increase rent.
- Trading: Players can trade Super Villain spaces, Spider-Tracers, Spider-Bots, and Web coins with other players at any time.
Spider-Powers
Each of the 6 Spider-Hero tokens has a unique Spider-Power. When a player lands on the "Symbol of Great Responsibility" space, they can activate their hero's special ability. Refer to your Spider-Power card for details on your chosen hero's ability.
