Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the HCDZ Replacement Remote Control, designed for use with Verizon FiOS IPSTB1200 and IPRC1000 IPTV TV Boxes. This is an infrared (IR) replacement remote control.
No programming is required for this remote control. Simply insert batteries, and it will be ready for use.
Setup
Battery Installation
The remote control requires 4 AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the cover downwards or press the latch (if present) to remove it.
- Insert 4 new AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

No Programming Required
This replacement remote control is pre-programmed and does not require any setup or code entry. Once new batteries are inserted, it will function immediately with compatible Verizon FiOS IPSTB1200 and IPRC1000 IPTV TV Boxes.
Operation
Point the remote control directly at your Verizon FiOS IPTV TV Box. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV Box's infrared receiver.
The remote features standard buttons for power, channel selection, volume control, menu navigation, and playback functions. Refer to your Verizon FiOS IPTV TV Box's user manual for specific functions of each button if needed.
Maintenance
- Battery Care:
- Do not mix new and old batteries.
- Do not mix different types of batteries (e.g., alkaline and rechargeable).
- If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.
- Storage: Avoid leaving the remote control in extremely hot or humid environments, as this can damage the internal components.
- Cleaning: Clean the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Infrared Sensor: Do not expose the remote's infrared sensor (located at the front) to direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting, as this may interfere with its operation.
