5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater. It is recommended to have the unit inspected by a qualified technician annually.

- Safety Group Check: Periodically check the 3-in-1 safety group for proper function. The pressure relief valve should be tested regularly according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Draining the Tank: If the water heater will be out of use for an extended period or in areas prone to freezing, drain the tank to prevent damage. The unit also features anti-freeze protection.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6. Troubleshooting
The Thermex ID 80 V Shadow Smart water heater is equipped with self-diagnosis capabilities. If you encounter an issue, check the following common points before contacting support:
- No Hot Water: Ensure the unit is powered on and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Check the selected temperature setting.
- Insufficient Hot Water: The SMART mode adapts to usage. If your hot water demand has recently increased, consider switching to Optimal or Turbo mode temporarily.
- Power Outage: In case of a power failure, the unit will remember its last settings once power is restored.
- Unusual Noises: Minor noises during heating are normal. Persistent or loud noises may indicate sediment buildup or other issues, requiring professional inspection.
- Leakage: Immediately turn off the water supply and electrical power. Contact a qualified technician.
