Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Variable Speed Trigger

Press the trigger switch to turn the drill on. The speed is variable and controlled by the amount of pressure applied to the trigger. Pressing lightly results in lower speed, while pressing fully results in maximum speed.

2. Forward/Reverse Rotation and Lock-Off Switch

The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (drilling/screwing in) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws). When the switch is in the center position, the trigger is locked, preventing accidental startup.

3. 2-Speed Gear Selector

The drill features a 2-speed gearbox for optimal performance across different tasks. The gear selector switch is located on top of the drill housing.

  • Gear 1 (0-400 RPM): Provides higher torque and lower speed, ideal for heavy-duty screwdriving and drilling large holes.
  • Gear 2 (0-1500 RPM): Provides higher speed and lower torque, suitable for fast drilling and light-duty screwdriving.

Always select the appropriate gear before starting the operation. Do not change gears while the drill is running.

Figure 4: The 2-speed gear selector allows users to choose between high torque (0-400 RPM) and high speed (0-1500 RPM) modes for various applications.

4. Torque Adjustment Collar (19+1 Settings)

The torque adjustment collar allows you to set the desired torque for screwdriving applications. This prevents overtightening screws and damaging the workpiece or screw head. There are 19 torque settings plus a drill mode setting.

  • Settings 1-19: Lower numbers for smaller screws and softer materials, higher numbers for larger screws and harder materials.
  • Drill Symbol: For drilling applications, this setting bypasses the clutch and provides maximum torque.

Rotate the collar to align the desired setting with the indicator mark on the drill body.

5. Applications

The GALAX PRO 20V Cordless Drill Driver is suitable for:

  • Screwdriving: Furniture assembly, appliance repair, general fastening tasks. Use appropriate driver bits and torque settings.
  • Drilling: Creating holes in wood, metal, and plastic. Use appropriate drill bits and the drill mode setting on the torque collar.
