4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Automatic Recording
Once powered on and paired with the Nexar app, the dash cam automatically begins recording when you start driving. Footage is saved to the included SD card and can be streamed to your phone.
4.2. Smart Incident Detection and Cloud Backup
The dash cam features a built-in G-sensor that detects critical events such as collisions or sudden braking. When an incident is detected:
- A short clip of the event is automatically saved to the Nexar app.
- These clips are also backed up to your unlimited Nexar cloud account (requires active subscription).

4.3. Parking Mode
For 24/7 protection, the Nexar Beam activates Parking Mode when your car is parked. It senses impacts and begins recording immediately.
- You will receive a notification on your phone if a parking incident occurs.
- Recorded parking incidents can be viewed via the Nexar app when your phone is nearby and connected.

5. Maintenance
5.1. SD Card Management
The dash cam records continuously, overwriting the oldest footage when the SD card is full. Important clips saved via incident detection or manually are protected from being overwritten.
- Formatting: Periodically format the SD card (e.g., once a month) through the Nexar app to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
- Replacement: If the SD card shows signs of degradation or error, replace it with a high-endurance microSD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 256 GB recommended).
5.2. Cleaning
- Lens: Gently wipe the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust or smudges that could affect video clarity.
- Body: Clean the dash cam body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Dash Cam Not Powering On
- Ensure the USB charger is securely plugged into the vehicle's 12V outlet and the power cable is firmly connected to the dash cam.
- Check if the vehicle's 12V outlet is receiving power (e.g., by testing with another device).
6.2. App Connectivity Issues
- Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
- Ensure the Nexar app has necessary permissions (location, storage, etc.).
- Restart both the dash cam (by unplugging and replugging) and the Nexar app.
- If using wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, these may interfere with the dash cam's Wi-Fi connection to your phone. Footage will still record to the SD card.
6.3. Poor Video Quality
- Clean the dash cam lens.
- Ensure the windshield area in front of the camera is clean and free from obstructions.
- Check the video resolution settings in the Nexar app.
6.4. Parking Mode Not Activating
- Ensure Parking Mode is enabled in the Nexar app settings.
- Verify that the dash cam is receiving continuous power even when the vehicle is off (some vehicles cut power to 12V outlets when ignition is off).
