4.1 Powering On/Off

  • Automatic Operation: The drive recorder will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will power off automatically when the ignition is turned off.
  • Manual Operation: Refer to the device's buttons for manual power control, typically a dedicated power button.

4.2 Recording Modes

  • Continuous Recording: The device continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the microSD card is full, the oldest files are overwritten, except for locked event files.
  • Event Recording (G-Sensor): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the G-sensor triggers and automatically saves the current recording segment as a protected file that will not be overwritten.
  • Manual Recording: Press a designated button to manually start an emergency recording, which will also be saved as a protected file.
  • Parking Mode: When the vehicle is parked and the engine is off, the drive recorder can detect motion or impacts and automatically begin recording. This feature requires a continuous power supply (e.g., hardwiring kit, sold separately).

4.3 Viewing Recordings

Recordings can typically be viewed in one of two ways:

  • On the Device: Use the built-in screen and navigation buttons to browse and play back recorded videos.
  • On a Computer: Remove the microSD card from the device and insert it into a computer's card reader. Use a compatible video player or the manufacturer's dedicated software (if provided) to view the files. GPS data can often be viewed with specialized software.

Access the device's menu to adjust various settings, including:

  • Date and Time
  • Video Resolution
  • G-Sensor Sensitivity
  • Parking Mode Settings
  • Microphone On/Off
  • Format MicroSD Card (recommended periodically)

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Gently wipe the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear recordings. Avoid abrasive materials.
  • MicroSD Card Management: Although the device features "maintenance-free" microSD card operation, it is good practice to periodically format the card (e.g., once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important files before formatting.
