1. Introduction

2. What's in the Box

3. Product Overview

The ATH-SQ1TW headphones consist of two wireless earbuds and a portable charging case. Each earbud features a touch sensor for control and is designed for a comfortable, secure fit.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Headphones

Before first use, fully charge the headphones and the charging case. Use the provided USB-A/USB-C charging cable to connect the charging case to a USB power source. The indicator lights on the case will show the charging status. The headphones will automatically charge when placed inside the case.

4.2 Pairing with a Device

1. Ensure the charging case is charged and both earbuds are inside.
2. Open the charging case. The headphones will automatically power on and enter pairing mode (indicated by flashing lights).
3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
4. Select "ATH-SQ1TW" from the list of available devices to complete the pairing process.
5. For Android devices, Fast Pair is supported for convenient connection. Only one Android device can be paired using Fast Pair at a time.

Once paired, the headphones will automatically connect to your device when removed from the case.

4.3 Fitting the Earbuds

Proper fit is crucial for sound quality and comfort. Experiment with the different eartip sizes (XS, S, M, L) to find the best seal for your ears. A snug fit ensures optimal bass response and noise isolation.

• Gently insert the earbud into your ear canal.
• Rotate the earbud slightly until it feels secure and comfortable.
• Ensure the eartip forms a good seal to prevent sound leakage.

5. Operating the Headphones

5.1 Power On/Off

• Power On: Remove the earbuds from the charging case. They will automatically power on.
• Power Off: Place the earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid. They will automatically power off and begin charging.

You can use either one or both headphones, depending on your preference or environment. Simply remove the desired earbud(s) from the case, and they will connect to your paired device.

6.1 Cleaning

• Regularly clean the earbuds and charging case with a soft, dry cloth.
• Remove eartips and clean them with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly before reattaching.
• Ensure charging contacts on both earbuds and case are free of debris.

6.2 Eartip Replacement

If eartips become damaged or lost, replace them with genuine Audio-Technica eartips to maintain sound quality and fit. Incorrect eartips may affect audio performance and comfort.

6.3 Water Resistance (IPX4)

The ATH-SQ1TW headphones have an IPX4 water resistance rating, meaning they are protected against splashing water from any direction. This makes them suitable for light rain or sweaty workouts. However, they are not designed for submersion in water. Do not expose them to strong jets of water or prolonged immersion.

• No Sound / Low Volume:
  • Ensure headphones are charged and properly paired.
  • Check device volume and headphone volume.

• Cannot Pair:
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
  • Place earbuds in the case, close the lid, then open to re-enter pairing mode.
  • Forget the device from your phone's Bluetooth settings and try pairing again.
  • Ensure no other devices are actively connected to the headphones.
• Intermittent Connection / Dropping Out:
  • Ensure your device is within the Bluetooth range (typically 10 meters/33 feet).
  • Avoid physical obstructions between your device and headphones.
  • Minimize interference from other wireless devices.
  • Ensure earbuds are fully charged.
• Earbuds Not Charging:
  • Ensure the charging case is charged.
  • Clean the charging contacts on both earbuds and inside the case.
