Operating an RC boat requires attention to safety. Please observe the following guidelines:

  • Age Recommendation: This product is recommended for users 14 years and up. Adult supervision is advised for younger users.
  • Water Environment: Operate the boat only in calm, open water free of obstacles, debris, and marine life. Avoid strong currents, large waves, or crowded swimming areas.
  • Battery Safety:
    • Use only the provided battery and charger.
    • Do not overcharge or over-discharge the battery.
    • Never leave charging batteries unattended.
    • Keep batteries away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and flammable materials.
    • If the battery swells, leaks, or becomes hot, discontinue use immediately and dispose of it properly.
  • Propeller Warning: The propeller spins at high speeds. Keep fingers, hair, loose clothing, and other objects away from the propeller when the boat is powered on.
  • Water Intrusion: While designed for water, excessive water intake can damage internal components. Ensure all hatches are securely closed before operation. After use, always open the hatch and dry the interior.
  • Radio Interference: Avoid operating near other radio-controlled devices or strong electromagnetic sources to prevent signal interference.
  • Low Voltage Alarm: Pay attention to the low voltage alarm. When activated, return the boat to shore immediately to prevent loss of control or battery damage.

4.1 Charging the Boat Battery

The boat is powered by an 11.1V 1200mAh LiPo battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

  1. Connect the boat battery to the provided USB charging cable.
  2. Plug the USB charging cable into a compatible USB power adapter (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall charger).
  3. The charging indicator light on the USB cable will show the charging status (refer to charger's specific light indications).
  4. Charging typically takes approximately 2-3 hours. Do not overcharge.
  5. Disconnect the battery once charging is complete.

Important Note: Some users have reported receiving chargers with non-USA plug configurations. If your charger plug does not fit standard outlets in your region, you will need to acquire a suitable adapter or a compatible charger. Always ensure the charger's voltage and current output match the battery's requirements.

4.2 Installing the Boat Battery

  1. Carefully open the top hatch of the RC boat.
  2. Insert the charged 11.1V 1200mAh LiPo battery into the battery compartment.
  3. Connect the battery connector to the boat's power connector. Ensure a secure connection.
  4. Close the hatch securely to prevent water from entering during operation.

4.3 Installing Remote Control Batteries

The remote control requires 4 x AA batteries (not included).

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Insert 4 x AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

4.4 Pairing the Remote Control with the Boat

Follow these steps to establish a connection between the remote control and the boat:

  1. Ensure the boat battery is connected and the boat's power switch is OFF.
  2. Turn ON the remote control. The indicator light on the remote will likely flash.
  3. Place the boat in water. The water sensor will activate the boat's power.
  4. The remote control and boat should automatically pair. The indicator light on the remote will become solid, indicating a successful connection.
  5. If pairing fails, turn off both the boat and remote, then repeat the steps.

5. Operation Guide

Once the boat and remote are paired, you are ready to operate your RC boat.

5.1 Basic Controls

  • Forward: Pull the trigger on the remote control towards you.
  • Backward: Push the trigger on the remote control away from you.
  • Turn Left: Rotate the steer wheel on the remote control counter-clockwise.
  • Turn Right: Rotate the steer wheel on the remote control clockwise.

5.2 Advanced Features

  • Rudder Adjustment (ST TRIM): Use the ST TRIM dial on the remote control to fine-tune the boat's straight-line tracking. If the boat veers left or right when the steer wheel is centered, adjust the trim until it travels straight.
  • Throttle Dual Rate (TH D/R): The TH D/R button/dial on the remote control allows you to adjust the maximum throttle output. This can be useful for beginners or for operating in smaller areas.
  • Automatic Flip Recovery: If the boat capsizes during operation, simply apply throttle forward and backward repeatedly. The boat is designed to automatically right itself.
  • Low Voltage Alarm: The boat is equipped with a low voltage alarm. When the battery is running low, the boat will signal this (e.g., by slowing down or flashing lights). Immediately return the boat to shore when this alarm activates to prevent battery damage and loss of control.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your RC boat.

  • After Each Use:
    • Remove the boat battery.
    • Open the hatch and thoroughly dry the interior of the boat with a soft cloth to prevent corrosion and mold.
    • Clean the exterior of the boat, especially the propeller and rudder, removing any weeds or debris.
    • If used in saltwater, rinse the boat thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
  • Propeller and Shaft: Regularly inspect the propeller for damage or entanglement. Lubricate the flexible shaft (flexi shaft) if necessary, especially after saltwater use, to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
  • Battery Storage: Store LiPo batteries in a cool, dry place, ideally at a storage voltage (around 3.8V per cell) if not being used for an extended period. Do not store fully charged or fully discharged.
  • Remote Control: Remove batteries from the remote control if it will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage.
  • General Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are tight and secure.
