3. Product Overview

3.1 Main Unit Display Features

The EMOS E5111 features a color display that presents various data in a clear, segmented layout:

  • Outdoor Values (Left Zone): Displays temperature and humidity from the wireless outdoor sensor. Includes temperature trend and battery status for the sensor.
  • Indoor Values (Right Zone): Shows temperature and humidity of the room where the main unit is located. Includes temperature trend, humidity trend, and battery status for the main unit.
  • Central Zone: Features weather forecast icons, atmospheric pressure, calendar (date and day), time, and current moon phase.
  • Comfort Indicator: An emoticon in the indoor zone symbolizes the thermal comfort level in the room.
  • Clothing Recommendation: A small symbol on the left side of the display suggests appropriate clothing layers for outdoor conditions.
  • Alarm Function: Two independent alarms with a snooze function are available.

3.2 Wireless Outdoor Sensor

The wireless outdoor sensor measures outdoor temperature and humidity. It transmits data to the main unit with a range of up to 50 meters. The main unit supports connection with up to 3 wireless sensors (additional sensors, model E05018, sold separately).

4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Devices

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2x AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.
  2. Main Unit:
    • For continuous operation and permanent backlight, connect the provided power adapter to the main unit and a power outlet.
    • For battery-only operation (temporary backlight), open the battery compartment and insert 3x AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity.

4.2 Sensor Pairing

Upon initial power-up, the main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. Ensure the sensor is within range (up to 50 meters, unobstructed). If pairing fails, refer to the troubleshooting section.

4.3 Initial Settings

The weather station's settings are intuitive. You can adjust the following:

  • Temperature Units: Select between Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
  • Time Format: Choose 12-hour or 24-hour mode.
  • DCF Radio Signal: The current time is automatically set via DCF radio signal for atomic accuracy, eliminating the need for manual time adjustment.

5. Operation

5.1 Display Backlight

  • With Power Adapter: Three permanent backlight modes are available: full brightness, dim, or off.
  • With Batteries Only: Press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button on the top of the weather station to temporarily illuminate the display.

5.2 Alarm and Snooze Function

The integrated dual alarm function with a snooze button allows the weather station to serve as a bedside alarm clock. Set your desired alarm times using the control buttons (refer to the full manual for detailed button functions).

5.3 Weather Forecast

The weather station provides a forecast for the next 12-24 hours with approximately 70% accuracy. This allows you to anticipate weather changes, such as whether you need an umbrella or warmer clothing.

  • Replace batteries in both the main unit and the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display.

  • Try repositioning the main unit to a location with better signal reception.
