Adjusting Settings
- Sensitivity (SENS): Adjusts the detection range of the PIR sensor. Turn the dial to increase or decrease the sensitivity to motion.
- Time Delay (TIME): Sets the duration the connected load remains on after the last detected motion. Adjustable from 18 seconds to 10 minutes.
- Ambient Light (LUX): Determines the ambient light level at which the sensor will activate. This allows the sensor to only turn on lights when the room is dark enough.
To access these dials, you may need to remove the included cover plate.
7. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance, keep the sensor lens clean and free from dust or obstructions. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the sensor's components.
8. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Lights not turning on: Check power connection, ensure sensor is not obstructed, verify ambient light setting is appropriate for current light conditions, and adjust sensitivity.
- Lights staying on too long/short: Adjust the Time Delay setting.
- False triggers: Reduce sensitivity. Ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct heat sources, air drafts, or rapid temperature changes, which can cause unintended activation.
