4.3 Cooking Modes: Pressure Cooking and Stewing

Your Clipsominut'Ultra offers versatile cooking options:

  • Pressure Cooking: For faster cooking, set the operating valve to the pressure cooking symbol. This mode is ideal for steaming vegetables or cooking meats quickly.
  • Stewing Pot: For traditional slow cooking or simmering, use the pot without the lid or with the lid in the non-pressurized position (if available, otherwise use without pressure).

4.5 Pressure Release

Once cooking is complete, pressure must be released before opening the lid:

  • Natural Release: Remove the cooker from heat and allow it to cool naturally. Pressure will gradually decrease.
  • Quick Release: Carefully turn the operating valve to the steam release position. Be cautious of hot steam.

4.6 Opening the Lid

  1. Ensure all pressure has been released. The pressure indicator should be fully lowered.
  2. Rotate the lid handles to unlock them.
  3. Carefully lift the lid away from you to avoid residual steam.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.1 Dishwasher Compatibility

The pressure cooker pot and steamer basket are dishwasher safe. The lid, however, should be hand-washed. The gasket and valve assembly should be removed from the lid before washing and cleaned separately.

5.2 Hand Washing

For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots.

5.3 Gasket and Valve Care

  • Remove the gasket from the lid after each use for cleaning. Wash it with warm, soapy water and dry it completely before reinserting.
  • Periodically check the operating valve and safety valve for any food particles or blockages. Clean them according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Replace the gasket and valves if they show signs of wear, cracking, or damage.

5.4 Non-Stick Coating Care

The stone finish non-stick coating is durable but can be damaged by metal utensils or abrasive cleaners. Use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils and soft sponges for cleaning to preserve the coating.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Pressure not building: Check if the lid is properly closed and locked. Ensure the gasket is correctly seated and not damaged. Verify the operating valve is set to the pressure cooking position.
  • Steam leaking from lid: This often indicates an improperly seated or damaged gasket. Re-seat the gasket or replace it if necessary. Ensure the lid is securely locked.
  • Food sticking: Ensure sufficient liquid is used. For the non-stick coating, avoid overheating an empty pot and use a small amount of oil or fat when cooking.
