Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Amplicomms BigTel 48 Plus phone.

1. Connecting the Handset

  1. Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset.
  2. Plug the other end of the coiled handset cord into the port labeled with a handset icon on the side or back of the telephone base unit.

2. Connecting the Telephone Line

  1. Plug one end of the telephone line cord (RJ11) into the port labeled with a telephone line icon on the back of the telephone base unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into your wall telephone jack or your router's phone port.

3. Connecting the Power Adapter

  1. Plug the small end of the power adapter into the DC IN port on the back of the telephone base unit.
  2. Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

Once connected, the phone display should light up, indicating it is ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Making a Call

  1. Lift the handset or press the Hands-free button.
  2. Dial the desired phone number using the large keypad.
  3. Wait for the call to connect.
  4. To end the call, replace the handset or press the Hands-free button again.

Receiving a Call

  1. When the phone rings and the LED indicator flashes, lift the handset or press the Hands-free button to answer.
  2. To end the call, replace the handset or press the Hands-free button.

Adjusting Volume

Handset Volume: During a call, use the volume slider switch on the side of the phone to adjust the handset listening volume. It can be amplified up to +40dB.

Ringer Volume: Use the ringer volume slider switch on the side of the phone to adjust the incoming call ringtone volume. It can be set up to +90dB.

Using Direct Dial Buttons (M1, M2)

The M1 and M2 buttons allow you to store and dial frequently called numbers with a single press.

To Store a Number:

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press the Store button (often represented by a book or memory icon).
  3. Dial the phone number you wish to store.
  4. Press either M1 or M2 to save the number to that button.
  5. Replace the handset.

To Dial a Stored Number:

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press either M1 or M2. The phone will automatically dial the stored number.

Phonebook and Speed Dial

The phonebook can store up to 50 names and numbers. Additionally, there are ten speed dial numbers (0-9) that can be programmed. Refer to the on-screen menu for detailed instructions on adding, editing, and dialing from the phonebook and speed dial entries.
