Model: EPI 12 WIFI | Brand: Turbionaire

1. Introduction

The Turbionaire EPI 12 WIFI is a compact dehumidifier designed to extract up to 12 liters of water per 24 hours, improving indoor comfort. It is suitable for various environments including homes, offices, basements, bathrooms, and garages, helping to prevent mold, unpleasant odors, and allergens associated with excessive humidity. The unit features an electronic hygrostat for real-time humidity measurement and automatic regulation, or regulation based on a user-selected target value. Integrated Wi-Fi allows for remote control via the Smart Life application (Android & iOS) and voice control compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The continuous dehumidification mode is suitable for drying laundry. An AUTO RESTART function ensures the unit resumes operation with previous settings after a power interruption. Its design includes 4 multi-directional wheels and an integrated ergonomic handle for easy movement. The touch panel and LED display provide control over fan speeds, timer settings, and operating modes (Auto, Continuous, SLEEP, Child Lock). The unit uses ecological R290 refrigerant and includes a continuous drainage hose.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging.
  2. Remove all packing materials and ensure no components are missing.
  3. Place the unit upright on a firm, level surface.
  4. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space around the air inlet and outlet grilles for optimal airflow. Avoid placing the unit against walls or furniture that could obstruct air circulation.
  5. Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 1 hour before plugging it in, especially if it was transported horizontally.

4.2 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the power cord is not damaged.
  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet that matches the voltage requirements of the unit (220 Volts).

4.3 Water Drainage Options

The dehumidifier offers two methods for water drainage:

4.3.1 Manual Drainage (Water Tank)

  • The condensed water will collect in the 2-liter water tank.
  • When the tank is full, the unit will automatically stop operating, and an indicator light (if available) will illuminate.
  • Carefully remove the water tank from the unit, empty the collected water, and reinsert the tank securely. The unit will resume operation.

4.3.2 Continuous Drainage

  • For continuous operation without needing to empty the water tank, connect the included drainage hose to the continuous drain hose connector on the unit.
  • Ensure the hose is routed downwards to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, sink) and that there are no kinks or blockages in the hose.
  • The water will then drain automatically.

  • If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean, and the air filter is clean and dry.
  • Unplug the power cord and coil it neatly.
  • Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

Before contacting customer support, please refer to the following troubleshooting guide for common issues.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit does not turn on. No power supply.
Water tank is full or not properly inserted.
Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
Empty the water tank and ensure it is correctly reinserted.
No water collected or dehumidification is weak. Room temperature is too low.
Air filter is clogged.
Humidity level is already low.
Unit is in continuous drainage mode with hose connected.
Dehumidifiers are less effective in very cold environments (below 5°C).
Clean the air filter (refer to Section 6.1).
Check the current humidity level on the display. If it's below your set target, the unit will not dehumidify.
Verify if the continuous drainage hose is properly connected and draining.
Unit is noisy. Air filter is clogged.
Unit is not on a level surface.
Fan speed is set to High.
Clean the air filter.
Place the unit on a stable, level surface.
Switch to a lower fan speed if desired.
Wi-Fi connection issues. Incorrect Wi-Fi password.
Router is too far or signal is weak.
Using a 5GHz Wi-Fi network.
Double-check your Wi-Fi password.
Move the unit closer to the router or ensure strong signal.
