5. Maintenance

5.1 Hot-Swappable Switches

The LTC NB1041 features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. This provides flexibility for customizing your typing experience.

  1. To remove a switch, use the included switch puller tool. Gently grip the switch from the top and bottom, then pull upwards until it detaches from the PCB.
  2. To install a new switch, align the pins of the new 3-pin or 5-pin MX-style switch with the holes on the PCB. Press down firmly until the switch clicks into place. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.

The keyboard is compatible with most 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style mechanical switches (e.g., Gateron, Kailh).

6. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
    • Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
    • Restart your computer.
  • RGB backlight not working or incorrect:
    • Ensure the backlight is turned on using the Fn key combinations (refer to Section 4.1).
    • Cycle through different RGB modes to see if the issue persists.
    • If using custom settings, ensure the software is correctly installed and configured.
  • Keys not registering or ghosting:
    • The keyboard features 104-key rollover and anti-ghosting. If keys are not registering, ensure no debris is under the keycap or switch.
    • If a specific switch is faulty, it can be replaced due to the hot-swappable design (refer to Section 5.1).
