- Viewing Area: The camera provides a wide 167-degree viewing angle, offering a comprehensive view of the area behind your vehicle.
- Parking Assistance: Use the displayed video feed to safely maneuver your vehicle while parking or backing up.
Caution: Always check your surroundings visually in addition to using the camera system. The camera is an aid and does not replace safe driving practices.
7. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your TRQ Park Assist Camera, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Lens Regularly: Periodically clean the camera lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris that may obstruct the view. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect Wiring: Occasionally check the wiring and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
- Waterproof Integrity: The camera has an IP67 waterproof rating, but avoid directing high-pressure water jets directly at the camera lens or housing during vehicle washing.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents near the camera or tailgate handle bezel, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your TRQ Park Assist Camera, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
8.1 No Image on Monitor
- Check Power Connection: Ensure the camera's power cable is securely connected to a functional 12V power source and that the fuse is intact.
- Verify Video Connection: Confirm the RCA video cable is securely connected to both the camera and the monitor's video input.
- Monitor Input Selection: Ensure your monitor is set to the correct video input channel for the camera.
- Vehicle in Reverse: If wired for automatic activation, ensure the vehicle is in reverse gear.
8.2 Distorted or Poor Image Quality
- Clean Camera Lens: A dirty lens is a common cause of poor image quality. Clean it gently as described in Section 7.
- Check Video Cable: Inspect the video cable for any kinks, pinches, or damage that could interfere with the signal.
- Power Fluctuations: Ensure the camera is receiving stable power. Voltage fluctuations can affect image quality.
8.3 Camera Not Activating Automatically
- Reverse Light Connection: Verify that the camera's power wire is correctly tapped into the vehicle's reverse light circuit.
- Fuse Check: Ensure the fuse on the power cable is not blown.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is recommended to consult a professional automotive technician.
