Setup

Unpack: Carefully remove the kettle and its base from the packaging. Remove any protective materials or stickers.
Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with water to the MAX line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
Placement: Place the power base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the countertop.
Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Fill the Kettle: Remove the lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the MIN line or above the MAX line (1.8 Liters).
Place on Base: Securely place the kettle back onto its power base.
Select Temperature:
- Press the Start/Stop button to activate the kettle. The LED light will turn white.
- Use the Up and Down arrow buttons on the handle to cycle through the 5 preset temperatures:
  - Delicate (160°F)
  - Green (175°F)
  - White (185°F)
  - Oolong (195°F)
  - Herbal/Black/Boil (212°F)
- Alternatively, you can set a custom temperature in 5-degree Fahrenheit increments using the arrow buttons.
Start Boiling: Once your desired temperature is selected, press the Start/Stop button again. The LED light will turn red, indicating heating is in progress.
Automatic Shutoff & Keep Warm: The kettle will automatically shut off once the selected temperature is reached. The LED light will turn green, indicating the water is ready and the "Keep Warm" function is active, maintaining the temperature for a period.
Pouring: Carefully lift the kettle from the base and pour. The specially designed spout ensures a mess-free pour.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your Chefman Electric Tea Kettle.

Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely. Hand wash the interior with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
Descaling: Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up over time, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or a commercial descaling solution). Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or boil the mixture and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times.
Storage: Ensure the kettle is completely dry before storing. Wrap the cord around the base for neat storage.

Troubleshooting

"Keep Warm" function not maintaining temperature.	This function is designed to keep water warm, not necessarily at the exact boiling point.	The "Keep Warm" function will maintain a warm temperature, typically around 150°F, not the initial setpoint. This is normal operation.
Loud noise during heating.	Mineral buildup (limescale).	Perform descaling procedure.
