Setup and Assembly
The EJWOX composter is designed for straightforward assembly with fewer screws for faster setup. Follow these steps:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface. Verify all components are present as per the package contents list.
- Assemble the Frame: Connect the galvanized steel frame pieces using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are secure but do not overtighten until the entire frame is assembled. The frame is zinc powder-coated for durability.
- Attach the Drum: Mount the composter drum onto the assembled frame. The drum is reinforced and UV protected for longevity. Ensure the drum rotates freely on its axis.
- Install Drainage Tap: Securely attach the drainage tap to the designated opening at the bottom of the drum. This tap is used to collect liquid compost tea.
- Final Tightening: Once all parts are in place and aligned, securely tighten all screws and bolts.

Operating Instructions
The EJWOX composter allows for two types of plant food: solid compost and liquid compost tea.
1. Adding Materials
- Open the wide-open door for easy loading of organic waste.
- Add a balanced mix of 'greens' (nitrogen-rich, e.g., food scraps, grass clippings) and 'browns' (carbon-rich, e.g., dry leaves, wood chips).
- Ensure the door is securely latched after adding materials to prevent spills during tumbling.

2. Tumbling for Aeration
- Rotate the drum manually several times a week. The rotary design and internal aeration bar mix the compost and ensure proper airflow, accelerating the decomposition process.
- Regular tumbling helps break down clumps and introduces oxygen, which is crucial for healthy, fast composting.
3. Collecting Compost Tea
- The composter is equipped with drainage plugs to collect nutrient-rich liquid compost, also known as 'compost tea'.
- Keep the tap open to collect liquids in a container placed underneath. This liquid can be diluted and used as a natural fertilizer for plants.

Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the composter with a damp cloth.
- Inspect for Wear: Regularly check all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Inspect the drum and frame for any signs of damage or wear.
- Drainage Tap: Ensure the drainage tap is clear of blockages to allow for proper liquid collection.
Troubleshooting
- Compost Not Breaking Down: Ensure a proper balance of 'greens' and 'browns'. If the mixture is too wet, add more browns. If too dry, add some water or greens. Increase tumbling frequency to improve aeration.
- Unpleasant Odor: This usually indicates too much nitrogen (greens) or insufficient aeration. Add more browns and tumble more frequently. Ensure the drainage tap is not blocked.
- Door Not Closing Securely: Check for any debris obstructing the latch mechanism. Ensure the drum is not overfilled, which can prevent the door from sealing properly.
- Difficulty Tumbling: If the drum is hard to turn, it might be overfilled. Remove some material. Ensure the composter is on a level surface and the frame is stable.
