1. Safety Information

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Coleman PEAK1 2-Burner Portable Camping Stove for use.

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove the stove from its foam carry case.
  2. Place the stove on a firm, level, non-combustible surface outdoors, away from any flammable materials or structures. Ensure there is adequate clearance above and around the stove.
  3. Ensure the pan supports are correctly seated on the stove top.

3.2 Connecting the Propane Cylinder

The stove uses a 16 oz. propane cylinder (sold separately).

  1. Ensure both burner control knobs are in the 'OFF' position.
  2. Screw the propane cylinder onto the regulator connection on the side of the stove. Hand-tighten only; do not overtighten.
  3. Check for gas leaks using a soapy water solution. Apply the solution to all connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections or replace the cylinder if necessary. Do not operate the stove if a leak is detected.

4. Operation

Once the stove is set up and the propane cylinder is connected, you can begin cooking.

4.1 Lighting the Burners

  1. Turn the desired burner control knob slowly counter-clockwise to the 'LIGHT' position. You should hear gas flowing.
  2. Immediately press the rotary ignition button. You should hear a click and see the burner ignite.
  3. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and repeat the lighting procedure.

4.2 Adjusting the Flame

Once lit, you can adjust the flame intensity by rotating the control knob. Turn clockwise for a lower flame and counter-clockwise for a higher flame. The stove features a stair-stepping burner design and added flame holes for faster, more even cooking.

4.3 Wind Protection

The integrated pan supports are designed to shield the flames from wind, helping to maintain consistent heat and cooking efficiency. Position the stove to minimize direct wind exposure for optimal performance.

4.4 Shutting Down

When finished cooking, turn both burner control knobs clockwise to the 'OFF' position. Allow the stove to cool completely before disconnecting the propane cylinder or moving the stove.

5. Maintenance

Store the stove in its original foam carry case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of ignition. Ensure the propane cylinder is disconnected and stored separately according to its manufacturer's instructions.
