- Install Drivers (for USB on Windows): For optimal performance with Windows computers, it is recommended to download and install the latest USB drivers from the official Topping website. For macOS and Linux, drivers are typically not required.
5. Operating Modes
The DX3 Pro+ offers four distinct output modes to suit various audio setups. These modes can typically be cycled through by pressing the multi-function knob or using the remote control.
- Headphone Amp Mode: Audio is output only through the 3.5mm headphone jack. The RCA outputs are inactive.
- Headphone Amp + Line Out Mode: Audio is simultaneously output through both the 3.5mm headphone jack and the RCA line outputs. The volume control affects both outputs.
- DAC Mode (Fixed Line Out): Audio is output only through the RCA line outputs at a fixed, maximum volume level. The headphone output is inactive, and the volume knob does not control the RCA output. This mode is suitable when connecting to a pre-amplifier or integrated amplifier with its own volume control.
- Pre-amplifier Mode (Variable Line Out): Audio is output only through the RCA line outputs, and the volume can be adjusted using the multi-function knob. The headphone output is inactive. This mode is suitable for connecting directly to a power amplifier or active speakers where the DX3 Pro+ acts as the volume controller.
6. Bluetooth Connectivity
The DX3 Pro+ supports Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC, AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL, and aptX HD protocols, allowing for high-quality wireless audio streaming.
- Select Bluetooth Input: Use the multi-function knob or remote control to select "BT" as the input source on the DX3 Pro+. The display will indicate Bluetooth mode.
- Enable Pairing Mode: The device should automatically enter pairing mode when Bluetooth input is selected for the first time or if no device is connected. If not, consult the full manual for specific pairing instructions (often involves a long press of the knob or a remote button).
- Pair with Device: On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices. Select "Topping DX3 Pro+" from the list to pair.
- Start Streaming: Once paired, audio from your device will be streamed wirelessly to the DX3 Pro+.
