Operating Instructions

Grind Adjustment

The DF64 II features a stepless grind adjustment mechanism, allowing for precise control over your grind size. The redesigned dial, wrapped with chrome, makes adjustments easy. Rotate the top collar to adjust the grind fineness. Finer settings are typically used for espresso, while coarser settings are for filter coffee.

Single Dosing and Zero Retention

This grinder is designed for true single dosing with less than 0.1 gram retention. For optimal results, use the included blow-out funnel with its lid to completely empty the dead space after grinding.

Grinding Process

  2. Adjust the grind setting to your desired fineness.
  3. Place the 58mm aluminum dosing cup under the chute.
  4. Add your desired amount of whole coffee beans into the top opening.
  5. Press the power button to start grinding.
  6. Once grinding is complete, use the blow-out funnel by pressing down on it to clear any remaining grounds from the chute.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Grinder

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your grinder.

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, use the blow-out funnel to clear the chute. Wipe down the exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Weekly Cleaning: Unplug the grinder. Remove the dosing cup and clean it with warm, soapy water. Allow it to dry completely. Use a brush or vacuum cleaner to remove any loose coffee grounds from the burrs and chute area.
  • Deep Cleaning (Monthly/As Needed): For a more thorough cleaning, you may need to remove the burrs. Refer to online resources or contact MiiCoffee support for detailed instructions on burr removal and cleaning. Always ensure the grinder is unplugged before attempting any deep cleaning.

Burr Care and Replacement

The DF64 II comes with custom-made 64mm stainless steel flat burrs. These burrs are durable, but their lifespan depends on usage and coffee type. Burrs can be upgraded to SSP burrs for different coffee tastes and enhanced performance.
