3.2 Recommended Wiring
For optimal performance and safety, adhere to the recommended wire gauges:
- AC Input Wiring: 8 AWG (for 3000W 110V version, refer to manual for other models).
- AC Output Wiring: 8 AWG (for 3000W 110V version, refer to manual for other models).
- Battery Wiring: 2 AWG.
- PV Input Wiring: 8 AWG (for up to 40A input).
Note that the necessary connectors for battery and solar inputs are supplied with the unit, but the wires themselves must be purchased separately according to your specific installation requirements.
4. Operating Instructions
The inverter features an LCD screen and three LED indicator lights to dynamically display system data and operating status. Use the 'SET', 'UP', 'DOWN', and 'ENT' buttons to navigate and configure settings.

4.1 Charging Modes
The unit supports four distinct charging modes, configurable via the LCD interface:
- Only Solar: Prioritizes solar power for charging.
- Mains Priority: Prioritizes utility grid power for charging. If mains charging fails, PV charging is initiated.
- Solar Priority: Prioritizes solar power for charging.
- Mains & Solar Hybrid Charging: Utilizes both PV and mains power for charging, with PV being the primary source. Mains power supplements when PV energy is insufficient.

4.2 Load Output Modes
The inverter offers three load output modes to manage power distribution to connected appliances:
- PV Priority: Prioritizes solar power for connected loads.
- Utility Priority: Prioritizes utility grid power for connected loads.
- Inverter Priority: Prioritizes power from the inverter (battery) for connected loads.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your CHINS inverter, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cooling Fans: The unit is equipped with intelligent adjustable speed fans for efficient heat dissipation. Ensure the fan vents are clear of obstructions to allow proper airflow.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Connections: Regularly inspect all wiring connections (AC, DC, PV) to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
6. Troubleshooting
The inverter is designed with comprehensive protection features. If an issue arises, the LCD display may show error codes or indicators.
Figure 6.1: Multiple Protection Functions
6.1 Common Protections
The unit includes 360° all-round protection, such as:
- Short-circuit protection
- Over-voltage and under-voltage protection
- Overload protection
- Reverse polarity protection
It also features a lithium battery activation function, allowing both AC and photovoltaic sources to activate lithium batteries. It supports both lead-acid and lithium battery connections.
6.2 AC Charging Issue
Some users have reported difficulties with the AC input charging the battery, even when the "Mains Priority" charging mode is selected and AC power is present. The unit may prioritize drawing power directly from the AC source for loads (pass-through) rather than charging the battery. If this issue persists, ensure all settings are correctly configured according to the detailed user manual (PDF link provided in Section 2). If the problem continues, contact CHINS customer support for further assistance.
