Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the cool box from its packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the cool box on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, especially near the fan openings. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Initial Cooling: For optimal performance, pre-cool the contents and the cool box before connecting it to a 12V/24V vehicle power supply. It is recommended to pre-cool the unit using the 230V AC connection at home for several hours.
- Connecting to Power:
- 230V AC (Household): Connect the 230V AC cable to the cool box and then to a standard wall outlet.
- 12V/24V DC (Vehicle): Connect the 12V/24V DC cable to the cool box and then to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket or a suitable 12V/24V power outlet. Ensure the vehicle engine is running or the battery is sufficiently charged to prevent draining the vehicle battery.
Operating Instructions
The Berger Z26 LNE features a high-quality Peltier cooling system capable of cooling contents up to 18°C below the ambient temperature. It also includes a MAX and ECO rotary knob for power consumption control.
- Loading the Cool Box: Place pre-cooled food and drinks inside. Avoid overfilling to allow for proper air circulation.
- Selecting Cooling Mode:
- MAX Mode: Provides maximum cooling performance. Use this mode when you need to cool items quickly or maintain the lowest possible temperature.
- ECO Mode: Reduces power consumption while still providing effective cooling. This mode is ideal for maintaining temperature over longer periods, especially when connected to a vehicle battery, to minimize drain.
Rotate the knob to select between MAX and ECO modes according to your needs. The cool box will start operating once connected to power and a mode is selected.
- Lid Seal: The rubber seal in the lid helps reduce condensation and maintain the internal temperature. Ensure the lid is securely closed at all times when not accessing contents.
Maintenance
- Cleaning:
- Before cleaning, always disconnect the cool box from the power supply.
- Wipe the interior and exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the plastic.
- Ensure the cool box is completely dry before reconnecting to power or storing.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation openings are free from dust and debris. Clean them gently with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner if necessary.
- Storage: When not in use, store the cool box in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors and mildew formation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cool box is not cooling. | No power supply; cable not connected; fuse blown; ventilation blocked. | Check power connection; ensure cables are securely plugged in; check vehicle fuse or household circuit breaker; clear ventilation openings. |
| Cooling performance is poor. | Ambient temperature too high; cool box not pre-cooled; lid not sealed properly; too many warm items inside; ECO mode selected. | Move to a cooler location; pre-cool items and box before use; ensure lid is closed tightly; reduce warm items; switch to MAX mode for stronger cooling. |
| Unusual noise from fan. | Fan obstructed by dust or debris. | Disconnect power and gently clean the fan area. If noise persists, contact customer support. |
