2. Safety Information

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your RCF ART 935-A speaker:

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the speaker from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. The box should contain: RCF ART 935-A Digital 2-Way Active Speaker, Power Cord, and this User Manual.

3.2 Physical Placement and Mounting

The ART 935-A is designed for versatile placement. It can be used on a pole, flown, wall-mounted, or truss-mounted. Ensure any mounting hardware used is rated for the speaker's weight (approximately 53.2 pounds / 24.2 kg).

3.3 Connections

Locate the input/output panel on the rear of the speaker.

  • Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cord to the AC inlet on the rear panel and then to a suitable power outlet.
  • Audio Input: Use an XLR cable to connect your audio source (mixer, audio interface, etc.) to the "BALANCED INPUT/LINK" XLR input.
  • Audio Link (Daisy Chain): If connecting multiple speakers, use an XLR cable from the "BALANCED INPUT/LINK" XLR output to the input of the next speaker.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Controls and Indicators

  • VOLUME Knob: Adjusts the overall output level of the speaker. Turn counter-clockwise for minimum volume (-∞) and clockwise for maximum volume (MAX).
  • PRESETS Button: Cycles through different audio equalization presets.
    • LINEAR: Flat frequency response, suitable for general use or when external EQ is applied.
    • BOOST: Enhances bass and treble frequencies, often used for music playback.
    • STAGE: Optimized for stage monitor applications, reducing low-frequency build-up.
  • SIGNAL LED: Illuminates when an audio signal is present at the input.
  • OVERLOAD LED: Illuminates when the input signal is too high, indicating potential clipping. Reduce the input level to prevent distortion.

4.2 Powering On/Off

  1. Ensure the VOLUME knob is set to minimum (-∞).
  2. Connect the power cord.
  3. Flip the power switch to the "ON" position.
  4. Gradually increase the VOLUME to the desired level.
  5. To power off, reduce the VOLUME to minimum, then flip the power switch to "OFF".

5. Maintenance
