Setup
1. Winding the Watch
Your SEIKO SUR360 is an automatic watch, meaning it is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped, it can be started by gently swinging it from side to side in a horizontal arc for about 30 seconds, or by manually winding the crown.
- To manually wind, rotate the crown clockwise in position 0 (normal position) for approximately 20-30 turns. This will provide enough power for the watch to start running.
- The watch will continue to wind automatically as you wear it.
2. Setting the Time and Date
The crown has three positions for setting the watch:

- Pull the crown out to position 2 (first click) to set the date and day.
- Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.
- Avoid setting the date/day between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can damage the movement. If you need to set the date/day during this period, first set the time outside this range, adjust the date/day, then reset the time.
- Pull the crown out to position 3 (second click) to set the time. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands. Advance the hands past 12 o'clock to ensure the AM/PM is correctly set (the date will change at midnight).
- Push the crown back to position 0 (normal position) to start the watch.
Operating Your Watch
Water Resistance Guidelines
Your SEIKO SUR360 watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 BAR). This means it is suitable for everyday use, swimming, and snorkeling. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving.
- Ensure the crown is fully pushed in to position 0 before any contact with water.
- Do not operate the crown or push buttons (if applicable) while the watch is wet or submerged.
- Avoid exposing the watch to hot water, steam, or sudden temperature changes, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.
General Use
For optimal performance, wear your automatic watch regularly. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop. Simply re-wind and set the time as described in the Setup section.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust and fingerprints.
- For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals to prevent damage and discoloration. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then dry thoroughly.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If you own a watch winder, you may use it to keep your automatic watch running and accurate.
Avoiding Magnetic Fields
Strong magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches. Keep your watch away from devices such as speakers, refrigerators, and magnetic clasps on bags or cases.
Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Insufficient Winding: As an automatic watch, it requires motion to operate. If it has stopped, manually wind it by rotating the crown 20-30 times clockwise in position 0, then wear it for several hours.
- Infrequent Wear: If the watch is not worn daily, its power reserve may deplete. Consider using a watch winder or manually winding it before wearing.
Inaccurate Time
- Magnetic Interference: Exposure to strong magnetic fields can cause the watch to run fast or slow. If you suspect this, consult a professional watchmaker for demagnetization.
- Impact: A severe impact can affect the movement. If accuracy issues persist after winding and avoiding magnetic fields, professional inspection is recommended.
