4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your TURBOTORCH LP-2 Manual Torch Kit:

  1. Connect Regulator: Ensure the gas cylinder valve is closed. Attach the RL-P regulator securely to the Propane or MAP-Pro gas cylinder. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to ensure a leak-free connection.
  2. Connect Hose: Connect one end of the H-12 hose to the outlet of the RL-P regulator. Connect the other end of the hose to the inlet of the H-4 handle. Tighten all connections firmly.
  3. Attach Tip: Select the desired T-4 tip and attach it to the H-4 handle. Ensure it is securely seated and tightened.
  4. Check for Leaks: Before opening the gas cylinder, apply a leak detection solution (e.g., soapy water) to all connections. Slowly open the gas cylinder valve. If bubbles appear, close the valve immediately and re-tighten the connection. Repeat until no bubbles are observed.
  5. Prepare Work Area: Ensure your work area is well-ventilated, free of flammable materials, and equipped with appropriate fire safety measures.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the kit is properly set up and checked for leaks, you can begin operation:

  1. Open Gas Valve: Slowly open the gas cylinder valve completely.
  2. Open Torch Valve: Slightly open the valve on the H-4 handle. You should hear the gas flowing.
  3. Ignite Torch: Use a spark lighter or striker to ignite the gas at the tip. Do not use matches or cigarette lighters.
  4. Adjust Flame: Adjust the valve on the handle to achieve the desired flame size and intensity. The swirl combustion technology will produce a concentrated, hot flame.
  5. Begin Work: Direct the flame to the workpiece for soldering or brazing.
  6. Extinguish Torch: When finished, first close the valve on the H-4 handle. Then, close the main valve on the gas cylinder. Allow any remaining gas in the hose to burn off until the flame extinguishes.
  7. Cool Down: Allow the torch tip and handle to cool completely before storing.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your torch kit:
